The fries were made to order, hot and crisp, and it’s worth noting that many items, like the bean burger and dressings, are made in-house. That attention to quality really shows in the taste.
Overall, 10/10—we’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Wasena Tap if you’re looking for good food and great service in a relaxed setting!
The service was outstanding and our server was attentive and she was very helpful. We have been going to Wasena Tap Room for years, however, we have noticed a severe decline in the food and it’s time to provide some feedback. The food for Wasena Tap Room is struggling. This evening, we ordered the Fat Tony and Maui Wowi and we were incredibly disappointed. Having been in the food industry for many years, I will say that pizza lives or dies by the dough, cheese and the sauce. The toppings are an accent, but the real star will always be the dough, the cheese and the sauce. The dough was severely undercooked and the cheese was just barely melted. You need a well baked firm crust and a golden cheese melt. The toppings were absolutely absurd. There were 1” cube chunks of ham, whole garlic cloves and huge slices of red onion. Don’t try to hide behind heavy toppings because abundance is not excellence. Great pizza happens when toppings are applied with purpose and not excess.
Food was good, not great. Brussels sprouts are always my favorite. I prefer bacon and balsamic and opposed to onions. I ordered beef stroganoff. It was good. Not amazing. Both the picks might be my fault. I knew how the Brussels were prepared by the menu and who orders stroganoff that grandma can make at home!? Again both tasted fine.
Lost a star on the mixed drink. I ordered a Beetlejuice?? It tasted like a watered down rum and coke. It was awful. Stick to their nice beer selection.
Kayla was our server – whe was excellent! Very attentive, greeted us quickly and was very patient and helpful, in a cheery mood. The food was awesome, especially the fresh pork rhinds which were only $4 on happy hour special. The $10 pizza was HUGE and delicious! Fries – chef’s kiss, sweet potato fries – double chefs kiss! We were there to celebrate my husband’s birthday and will choose this place again for any occasion. It was the perfect evening.
I do have one recommendation: Bust out the heaters for outdoor diners. It was a nice fall day, but pretty chilly!
The selection of craft beer is very large. However, you should make use of the opportunity to ask for a sample before ordering an unknown beer. Some beers are really only for connoisseurs.
The staff are very friendly
Well 5 minutes had went by and no staff member even bothered to get us drinks. I watched as they’d eyeball our table and walk right pass us. Now mind you they were not busy at all. So now we get into 10 minutes of no service and we were just getting ready to leave when the lady that seated us was coming by so I had to ask about getting service or we were leaving. She immediately apologized, took our drink order, and I reckon told one of the staff to finally wait on our table.
Our waitress was nice enough but we could tell she wasn’t the happiest that she had to take on our table.
The food and drinks were good enough. Wish that the wings had come out before the main meal but I gotta give it to em that everything was fresh.
So this review is more of a 2.5 star due to the wait and staff not seeming to want to take on another table.
I definitely wouldn’t mind coming back and would update the review if things are better then.
I will recommend them though just keep in the back of your mind it could be a wait.
