At this point, everyone in the restaurant was staring. I’m not sure how she didn’t feel ashamed.
After much back and forth and her showing me her iPad but not quite being able to communicate the issue, I figured it out on my own. My order was not showing up on her iPad as a completed order because I hadn’t clicked “I’ve picked up my order” in the DoorDash app. Well, I hadn’t picked it up at this point. She was still holding onto the bag for dear life. I clicked it anyway and told her to now check her iPad. There was my name and next to it “order complete.” I looked at her and she still clung onto the bag. No apology. She did have the audacity to say “don’t come back to Wasabi.” As though I was in the wrong. And as though I’d even want to after all this!
I reported the incident to DoorDash and they refunded me. So glad Wasabi did not get the sale in the end. Unclear as to whether that woman is the owner or a manager but she is incredibly uncouth. No customer should feel humiliated the way I did.

I want to correct several inaccuracies in their response.
I did not “intentionally delay” the order. I have placed many DoorDash pickup orders, and in my experience that button is typically pressed once the order is physically handed to the customer, as it requires confirming receipt and accuracy of the items. At the time of this interaction, the food was still being withheld from me, so I had not yet completed that step.
Once I did click “I’ve picked up my order,” the system updated immediately and my name appeared as “order complete” on the store’s tablet, confirming that the order was valid all along. Despite this, there was no acknowledgment or apology, and the employee continued to hold onto the bag and told me not to return.
I did not raise my voice until after the employee yelled and physically pulled the bag back from me, which is what caused a scene and drew attention from other customers.
Knowing that this is all on camera is good news for me, as when I explained the situation to DoorDash, they took this matter very seriously and are willing to be in compliance should this be investigated further. In the attached photo, you can see how crumpled up the takeout bag was from the worker yanking it out of my hands.
My intention in leaving this review is not to argue policy, but to document an interaction that felt unnecessarily hostile and could have been handled calmly and professionally.
The dining area is small, crowded, and messy with supplies and shelving at front of house. It’s disappointing and sloppy.
I recommend getting their loyalty card if you live nearby. You’ll most likely be coming back.
Reply to their response: I explained to you numerous times in the restaurant that there must be some type of error between them and doordash and to communicate with doordash. They refused and kept insulting me in front of everyone. I showed them all my confirmations from doordash and that doordash switched it from delivery to pickup due to numerous issues with the delivery driver and instructed me to pick it up. I kept asking politely that if they have any issue for whatever reason to contact doordash. They kept yellig at me and insulting me for no reason. Horrendous service and the staff and owner are so arrogant and condescending. After wasting 3 hours total of my time and after walking out they realized I was right and they were completely in the wrong and kept calling me to pick up my food that I had paid for and doordash had instructed me to pick up all along. I still don’t understand how they could be so rude to their customers. There was no issue at all to begin with and I kept begging them to just contact doordash but they were obviously trying to scam me and doordash. They wanted me to pay again in person and were receiving payment from doordash as well at the same time. When I caught on they kept doubling down and their behavior got worse after getting exposed. Terrible dishonest business and I would strongly recommend to avoid this place

The ingredients are very fresh and you get to create your own Poke Bowls.
The sushi nigiri and rolls are also delicious!
I come here weekly because it’s really that good!

Update:
The food is as good as ever.
Wasabi is one of the last places to raise their prices, and even at that, they only raised it by $1!
While the majority of restaurants are greedily raising their prices constantly and at insane rates, Wasabi is the true champion of the peope!
