My 5 year old grandson had kind of a rough day at school due to a bad dream he had the night before, so I decided to treat him after school to a treat. We went to IHOP in San Clemente. We were greeted by a waitress whose name is Daisy! She was as sweet as a daisy. Seriously 5 star treatment. We ordered pancakes and ice cream. The service was flawless and even more importantly it was natural, genuine, organic, as I believe it should be. The pancakes were fresh and hot and my grandson loved the ice cream.
She gave him toppings on the side for his ice cream.
IHOP has a special employee in her! We all need to support this little cozy place for fresh hot food. IHOP I hope you pass this on to her!! She needs to be promoted or at minimum she should be in charge of training! Customer service is on point! My grandson asked if he could say thank you to her, which he did!!
Go have some pancakes and ask to sit in Daisy’s section! Thank you Daisy for making our day!!!

Update I just got some to go cakes, well put in the order just two minutes ago. Absolutely great service here.come back I will they got good stuff, but no Cholula hot sauce like Denny’s in San ysideo does.-mike.im changing to five stars but I got to do it gradual like, so maybe by 2048 that’ll be there on the review I put in.
I used to eat there with my dad growing up on Long Island. I’m very thankful to you for having and maintaining such an amazing entity.

First thing I noticed was how dirty the front glass doors were. To be fair I came in on Veterans Day and they were busy. But still take the 2 min and clean the glass. If the doors are nasty what else is? Food was great though so I’m overlooking it. For as busy as they were service was great as well.

This franchise is in San Clemente. It is by far the absolute WORST restaurant ever. The first thing you see even before you walk in is seriously filthy front doors. You feel disgusted touching them. The windows in the door, handles and frames are full of greasy filth that looks like no one has ever cleaned them since this franchise opened. We have tried going more than several times, trying to give it a chance but this last time was the final, must needed nail in the coffin. To begin with, when we go in the morning we are always standing there far too long waiting to be seated. I mean ridiculously long. Many times employees looked right at us and never helped. (Remember everything I am saying here has been every time we went there). We have sat on both sides of the restaurant and 80% of the tables are never bussed. They are just left to sit there and there’s always food all over the floors. So basically when we have eaten there during the entire time we have always been surrounded by disgusting dirty tables. Another thing is they let you sit there forever before you are even asked if you’d like a beverage, yet only wait on tables that have Hispanic occupants. Then another 15 minutes or more goes by and someone finally comes to take the order. This is a highly charged racial atmosphere. If you are Hispanic you get prompt immediate A plus service. And NO. We are not racist. I am half Mexican, I just don’t look it. When we have come in first and then others who are Hispanic who come in after us, they always hands-down, get waited on. I have seen white couples sit there forever finally get up and leave. We have watched only many Hispanics many get their orders first even though we’ve ordered 30 minutes prior. We finally threw in the towel and got up and left after our server never brought our pre-order of a side dish to eat while we waited for our main course breakfast. The server said he’d bring it out when he went back to the kitchen. Well, after 7 trips back and forth walking right past our table from the kitchen, we never got our order. All he did was only wait on Hispanics. Its so in your face. This is common practice there. I make no apologies for anything I’ve said as I am Hispanic myself. The truth needs to be told. The only reason I gave this restaurant franchise one stars is because there are no zeros.

I really appreciate that they have “gluten-friendly” options. The burger was very disappointing- I would rather have in n out any day of the week.
I had not been to an IHOP since about 2007. We went for my wife wanting to try her favorite cereal in pancake form. I think for fast food it’s a bit overpriced – I would rather go to a smaller mom and pop for an omelette or pancakes.
