A big zero. They served beer without a glass. I don’t care if it’s chilled or not, I will not drink beer I out of a bottle the size of a wine bottle. They served the sashimi and the Hokkigai was freezer burnt. I lost my appetite at that. The they served the Katsu Donburi AKA Katsudon on a plate, with rice in a separate bowl.
It was so disgusting of an experience, I only ate the miso soup and the side salad as those were the only things properly prepared.
I took all the food to go as not to spoil the experience for other people dining there. I paid my bill and included a 20% tip as these problems came from the kitchen and not the server.
74 dollars- straight into the trash. And I left hungry and unsatisfied.
Save yourselves the disappointment. Don’t patronize this establishment.
Zero stars review.
We ordered sake and miso soup to start and I thoroughly enjoyed both. For sushi, we ordered the Lone Star Roll and a few pieces of nigiri. We did enjoy the roll; however, the nigiri fell a bit short. I’m not too fond of large slices of fish and prefer it thinly sliced on top of the rice. Further, the steak teriyaki we ordered was very very tough and hard to chew. Very disappointing dish.
Overall, they have some ok stuff but I doubt we’ll return.
I ordered the three roll lunch special (which is only $16!). I got the shrimp tempura, Cajun, and avocado rolls. It came with a free cup of miso soup. Everything was amazing. Also, the rolls were HUGE! One slice was the diameter of my fist, and everything I got comes 8 slices to a roll. Great value.
I loved this place 10 years ago and am so glad I found myself back in the area to try it again for lunch today. It’s just as good as I remember. Will definitely be returning!
we were the only guests in the restaurant and everyone was extremely kind and very hospitable!! the food was so good and we will definitely be back again soon
I chose the Jalapeño Tuna Roll and the Spider Roll. Both rolls were excellent in terms of texture and temperature. However, if you’re expecting a kick from the jalapeño in the Tuna Roll, it’s not very spicy. That said, I still highly recommend both rolls.
The owner was attentive and answered all my questions, which added to the positive experience. The sushi rolls were neatly packed in containers specifically designed for sushi, which was a nice touch. I’ll likely return to try more items on the menu.
