Had dinner at Wasabi Japanese Restaurant with a few friends and it was a great experience from start to finish. The food was flavorful and well-prepared — my friend had the sashimi, which was fresh and beautifully presented, I went with the Thai green chicken curry that had a nice kick to it, and another friend had the wonton soup, which they really enjoyed. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.

I enjoyed a lovely dinner celebrating my husband’s birthday. We dined at a less busy time so the restaurant was quiet. The server was attentive and polite. The food arrived in stages as we requested and it was delicious. My husband is fussy about his sushi and though it was tasty he would have liked more fish per piece

I will recommended this restaurant to my friends.

Went in for dine in on a busy night;
But was able to get seated in 15mins and food was served quickly too.
Server Thomas was really nice and friendly.
Loved the sushi
And they recently started the all you can eat too.
Crunchy rolls were my favourite and also loved the Gyoza.
I think its one of the best place to have sushi in thunderbay.

I just ordered takeout from this place, and I was absolutely shocked by the portion sizes. I got three scallop nigiri, and as you can see from the picture, the size is ridiculous—yet they charge $3.75 each! Just a couple of days ago, I ordered scallop nigiri from Osaka Sushi for $2.95 each, and it came with a huge, whole scallop. The difference is night and day.

I also ordered the Papa Ken Roll ($15.95), and once again, the portion was shockingly small. I usually don’t complain about food, but this honestly feels like getting robbed.

I was so frustrated—I had a long day and just wanted a good meal. I ended up going to Osaka Sushi again for their scallop nigiri. You can see the comparison in the blue box—the difference speaks for itself!

I’m not unreasonable, and if this was a mistake by Wasabi’s staff, the owner is welcome to contact me. I’m open for discussion.

Disgusting, no one should tolerate this business.

$45+tax all you can eat however you can only ordered 10 pieces sashimi, in total, of any kind and the final product is shown on the picture, horrible.

Rice was very dry and lack of rice vinegar with it, the rice portion was very generous though.

Ice cream was served on a warm plate, almost hot actually and the waitress replied all the plates all freshly out of dish washing machine, so we have to suck it up at a $45 dinner I guess?

Thunder bay people deserves better restaurant.

Ordered all you can eat for two people and we were seated in a “private booth.” when our server came to take our orders – she answered our questions about the menu with a lack of knowledge, condescending tone, and overall bad attitude. After we received our food, we asked for drink refills and never got them. Our table was completely forgotten about and after 20 minutes of waiting, we had to flag our server down so we could pay our bill. Will not be dining here again

Ridiculous

I normally don’t give negative feedback to restaurant. But they are the worst japanese restaurant I have ever been to.

They limited 10 pcs of AYCE sashimi for each person. But the size of the salmon is just 1/4 of a shrimp nigiri. That’s is not acceptable.
And the serving plate is a pizza pan. So weird.

I will never go back.
Not worth $43 per person.

Food quality is less than average here. The rolls didn’t have much flavour, even with the soy sauce. Everything was just ‘meh’ and the rice was too soft and mushy.
I also ordered the deep fried soft shelled crab because I’ve never seen that on a menu before. Unfortunately, it also didn’t have much flavour.
Not my favorite sushi place but it wasn’t unsatisfying enough to stop me from finishing it. Staff was friendly.

Good Sushi is hard to find in the Thunder Bay area, but this place was good. While I was there they had a buffet and a regular menu, I chose the regular menu. The beer was cold, the soft shell crab was delicious, and I had the kamikaze roll, which was good. It was very busy, so I think that means very good food for a good price.
Will go there again the next time I’m in the area.

I am giving food 2 stars only because I didnt find many options in Sashimi or Japanese food as such for the price they seek for All you can Eat.. If you love rolls and lots of rice ..yes this place offers that..I see all you can eat for the price above 30$ should have more options for sashimi, raw fish which is Japanese.. unfortunately thats why my rating is low for food..the place is great..you should check them if you love rice and sushi rolls…there was no tepanyaki, teriyaki…or maybe me coming from a city where all you ca eat has so many varieties, I expected similar to that..best wishes team
