We had a great meal at Wasabi. We were seated quickly. We were a bit confused at first where the sushi/maki rolls were on the menu, but then the waitress gave us a paper menu where you can check off your rolls. We had 3 rolls and then decided to order 2 more and were stuffed! We loved the Godzilla roll. The coconut shrimp appetizer was delicious too. We would definitely come back if we are ever in Asheville again!

Great little restaurant with big flavors. Our server was fantastic, the food was excellent and we even took note of dishes around us.

Amazing Food and Even Better People!
Wasabi in Asheville is easily one of my favorite restaurants in town. The food is always fresh and full of flavor — from the sushi to the pork belly ramen with the perfect runny egg, every dish tastes like it’s made with care.
What really makes this place special is Jiao, the owner. She’s so kind, friendly, and welcoming every time we visit. You can tell she truly cares about her customers and takes pride in everything that comes out of her kitchen.
If you’re looking for delicious Japanese food with top-notch service and a genuine, family-style atmosphere, Wasabi Asheville is the place to go. Highly recommend!

Service was excellent, food was so so. We had sushi, soup, salad and some drinks. Soup was a bit greasy and salty. My roll contained avocado which was mushy and messed up the texture and flavor, I didn’t love the fish either which is a shame as service was fantastic.

Cozy spot for noodles when the rain came down! We stopped in after seeing the “voted best ramen” sign out front. They were not lying, this was some of THE best ramen and Hibachi we have had! Definitely on our favorites list for good

Wasabi is my “go to” for sushi in Asheville. Fish is truly fresh. Service is excellent. Lovely local owners who also manage the restaurant. The sushi lunch special and honey ginger tea is a once weekly order for me and they are a great option for dinner when I’m downtown for a show. Highly recommend.

We were on the way to the airport and decided to stop for dinner and had the urge for sushi. Found this little jem on yelp and decided we needed to try it. It did not disappoint! The restaurant isn’t big but it’s big on flavor! The staff was very friendly and answered any questions that we had. we started out with the miso soup and we’re pleasantly surprised that it had seaweed added to it. Then we did the oyster shooter special. It was absolutely amazing! It had sake a raw oyster, a quail egg it was fabulous. We had three different rolls and every single one of them were great and then when we didn’t think we could eat anymore we ordered the fried cheesecake. Oh my gosh, it was so delicious. The entire meal was so very good. We sat at the bar and there was also table seating and seating outside. It would be a fun place to eat outside in the summer.

There is no shortage of sushi, nor opinions about whose is best in Asheville. As someone who has spent quite a lot of time in Japan this will always be my pick. They have all the complicated fancy over-Americanized stuff tourists would expect, but they also know very well how to do authentic simplicity. Say what you will, this is Asheville’s best.

Wasabi Japanese Restaurant never fails to impress with the freshness and preparation of dishes. Portions are quite large as well. The Lunch Portion (pictured) is an example of a great lunch at a very fair price. $18.
