And we got there about 10min to 9:00 which was their closing time. And to our surprise we were graciously offered a table and had a fantastic meal with a very friendly waiter and waitress and the food was second to none.
We had been there many many years ago and I had the same dinner I had tonight their pork chop which is one of the best pork chops I’ve ever had since the last time I was there.
My fiance is vegan and she had the eggplant without cheese and it was exactly the way she likes it.
We each had a Hendrick’s gin and tonic and they were absolutely delicious.
And to my surprise they still offered chocolate truffles with the bill. 🙂
We started with the grilled peach crostini, Nonna’s meatballs, and berry salads, and every bite was bursting with flavor. The service team moved gracefully together, making the entire evening feel seamless and genuinely warm.
Executive Chef Mike Griffin even came out to chat with us. He is not only a talented chef but also such a kind, engaging person — it was a pleasure to have a few minutes to talk with him. It’s a really nice touch when the executive Chef comes out and engages with the tables.
For entrées, we enjoyed the evening’s special tenderloin tips and a ribeye. Both were cooked to perfection, plated beautifully, and generously portioned — I even had enough to bring home. To finish, the bill arrived with two decadent chocolate truffles, and we couldn’t resist sharing the crème brûlée, which was as stunning as it was delicious.
Though the weather kept us indoors, the atmosphere inside was charming, and our table gave us a lovely view of life in downtown Clifton Springs. Between the gorgeous food, the warm hospitality, and the elegant yet inviting setting, Warfield’s is truly a gem. I can’t wait to return — next time hopefully in the courtyard!
My friend and I started by splitting the Mango Salad, which was delicious and full of bright, varied flavors. For my entrée, I ordered the Gnocchi Fungi—pan-seared gnocchi with a mix of mushrooms, parmesan, and a white wine garlic sauce. It was superb! I personally would’ve loved a bit more sauce, but that’s just my preference—I like things a little saucier. The variety of mushrooms in the dish was especially enjoyable.
My friend had the crab cakes, which were delightful, and we both loved the bread served at the beginning with multiple butters (the red pepper butter was the standout!).
The staff was wonderful, the atmosphere was lovely, and to top it off, we ordered some peanut butter-filled cookie sandwiches—and they gave us one for free!
Overall, a fantastic meal. I’d definitely come back the next time I’m in town.
The meal portions are very substantial, especially the fried chicken entrée. Expect to go home with leftovers!
The menu choices are varied enough to please everyone at the table, as are the wines, beers, and spirits.
Service was great and has been consistently that way each time I have dined there.
In the summer, the garden dining area is a lovely retreat . Spending a quiet afternoon with a friend for lunch, sharing wine feels deliciously decadent.
Indoors or out, lunch or dinner, gives an impression of European old world elegance with its great architecture, the paintings lining the walls, and the private garden.
I am delighted that friends introduced us to the restaurant a year ago. We have and will be back again. Don’t forget to get something at the bakery on your way out!
10/14 update. Still really good food, excellent service. Beautiful presentation of food. Thai noodles as good as last time, poached pear salad very good, grilled cheese was wonderful, meatloaf special really good, apple burbon quesadillas, hot and sweet chicken sandwhich all memorable. Highly recommended.
5/17 food just as good as last time and the time before. I got the thai peanut soba noodles no chicken or Sriracha and spinach strawberry salad. Excellent. Wait staff attentive.
