What a gem!
Really great food at reasonable prices.
Fast and friendly service.
We had the mushroom Swiss burger with the seasonal sweet potato casserole as a side.
The sweet potato casserole was practically dessert! It was so good. You can really taste the brown sugar and the butter. The pecans were a delicious addition. (Worth noting if you have a nut allergy.)
The fried chicken sandwich with French fries were also excellent. Served piping hot and really flavorful.

Stopped by for lunch with seven other people while we’re out on a day ride on our motorcycles.
The place was very welcoming. Definitely has that old-time grill/diner feel.
Most everybody enjoyed their lunch. The corn nuggets were fantastic. The hot dogs were pretty good. Add chili on one and sauerkraut on the other. Both were excellent. The only real disappointment was the fried green tomatoes. Too much breading and not enough tomato. The only other food comment was from my buddy who got the chicken nuggets. They were swimming in way too much sauce. But otherwise tasted good.
Service was pretty good, but at no point was anybody offered any sort of drink refill.

We were seeking out a decent burger after apple picking and Ward’s did not disappoint! Fresh and tasty food, generous portions, and everything is prepped and cooked to order. Located in the downtown Saluda strip in a historic building with a cute park across the tracks! We will most definitely be back next time we’re out this way ❤️

This is an old small town diner. We arrived for breakfast 10 minutes before they stopped serving it. Breakfast is buffet style. Pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and grits prepared just right! And that’s hard to find ! Server was very gracious and encouraged us to fill another plate so we got our money’s worth since breakfast was ending. Dinner is basic. No frills. But what you expect in the oldest place in town.

This may have been the best burger of my life! As a Charleston, SC realtor, I travel often, and in this case, I was in town helping with hurricane Helene disaster relief. Ward’s Grill was the perfect spot for me, with their “Roulette Burger” on the menu – a surprise burger created just for you. My Roulette Burger was out of this world: double patty, tiger sauce, bacon jelly, and spicy mustard – a one-of-a-kind combination that blew me away!
The ambiance here is just what you’d want in a classic grill – you can watch your food being cooked right at the bar or grab a table and enjoy an ice-cold Coke. Ward’s has that warm, nostalgic diner feel, and the food is absolutely incredible. Highly recommend stopping by and definitely give the Roulette Burger a try!

New to the country and we ended up in Saluda! Great community and super friendly! Ward’s food was amazing! The combination of slaw and a hotdog was something i didn’t know i was missing! Our server was great too!

This little restaurant was without a doubt the highlight of our trip. The friendly people that operate this place were AWESOME. The first time there we got lunch and enjoyed it so much we went back the next morning for breakfast. Great prices and the amount of food you get is unreal. I definitely recommend this place to all who are in the area.

Saluda a nice small old-fashioned town and Ward’s Grill is that old grill check it out small neat place to visit and eat. I had a Philly add jalapeño mushrooms wife had a Carolina burger both were very delicious and the service was excellent . Everyone was very friendly.
