Reviews
Staffs were very helpful, courteous and friendly
Most of their Staffs are experienced, so, just ask away . . see what they recommend.
Their menu stretch between 4 booklets … very colourful and informative, with reasonable prices and large selections.
A nice and comfy place for couples, families and groups.
Car parking is a challenge .. so, getting a GRAB or taxi will be the easier alternative.
Reservations is recommended.
Super Friendly Staffs, Helpful and Polite.
Extensive food and drinks menu items.
We had their 1800ml sake bottle, with balance to bring back
Reasonable prices, delicious food …
The only short of a 5-Star is their overall presentation ….
But, then again … with a more “atas” environment, prices may increase with lower traffic …
So .. this is a 5-Star restaurant, with a modest 4-Star rating ….
I came with a friend and made sure to avoid the busy hours. To my surprise, even at 2 pm, there were still quite numbers of customers dining in. Thankfully, we didn’t have to wait long, and the staff was mostly friendly. However, there were some communication challenges, especially while waiting for our food. It took around 30 minutes for the dishes to arrive, one by one, which could be due to staffing issues.
Here’s what we ordered. I noticed some reviews mentioning the signature sashimi platter, which came with a high price tag. As for the dishes we tried, I’d say they were decent, and the prices were reasonable. The portions were large and very filling.
1. Special Maki (4/5)
A set of 8 pieces, with an overwhelming egg flavor that complemented each bite of rice. It definitely gives you that satisfying “Jiak Ba Ba” feeling.
2.Ishiyaki Geki Kara Ramen (3.5/5)
A hot plate with a mix of pork, bean sprouts, and spicy flavors. I’d describe it as having a spicy, tangy kick.
3.Spicy Buta Shoga Yaki Set (3.5/5)
This one didn’t feel very Japanese to me. It had more of a Malaysian Zi Char vibe, with tofu, kimchi, and white rice. Wait, did I just say kimchi?
4.Ebi Mentai Maki (4/5)
Personally, I think this was one of the most satisfying dishes. The mayo and rice were so tasty—one set is enough to fill you up. If you’re a big eater, two sets might be a bit much, though!
5.Tempura Soba (3.5/5)
The tempura was pretty good; it felt better than the usual deep-fried offerings from other places. It was nicely presented. However, the noodles tasted like instant “Maggie Mee.” Wait—did I just call this dish soba? Hmm… Naniyo desuka??
Overall, I’d rate the restaurant a 3/5. Although there were some hiccups during the ordering and serving process, it’s still a decent place to eat. The management could definitely improve on employee training, service, and maintaining food standards.
