Went recently for a friend’s birthday party and the staff were very nice and accommodating. The food was really good. Would highly recommend the everything pretzel and the sliced London broil sandwich!

On New Year’s Day… I had made early dinner reservations at the Wantagh Inn for myself and my two friends. I had never been there and I had always heard good reviews. It was Thursday and it was also steak night for $30. It was a choice of flat iron, skirt or sirloin steak with mashed and veggies. We started with the fried calamari and chicken quesadillas as appetizers. They were really good. All three of us had the mistletoe margaritas. They were delicious and served in mason jars. We all ordered the flat iron after we asked our server Kay for a recommendation. She was also great and very attentive. The food was delicious, steak cooked to perfection. I asked for a side of gravy that was also delish. For dessert we shared a warm brownie with vanilla ice cream and fresh whipped cream. I loved this place. I liked the Christmas decor too. I am definitely going back. I can’t believe this place is 5 minutes from my house and I had never tried it. I heard they have a prime rib special too, I will have to check that out too.

This place is a classic Irish pub. Big menu with lots of specialties. Updated prices with the full menu in my pictures.

Abysmal parking situation. Very nice main dining room for family gatherings. I attended a baby shower upstairs. Only one server working entire party, so patience was needed! Very weird bathroom placement; right behind hostess station. Only two stalls for entire restaurant. Not at all wheelchair friendly. Salmon made my stomach a bit queasy for remainder of day.

Went there for dinner with another couple. Reservations were definitely needed and we were seated right away. The place was packed and very loud. Service was not the best but I don’t know if that was do to the place being so crowded. The food was excellent but again it was so loud that it was difficult to carry on any conversation. I would still recommend it.

A beautiful restaurant and bar. Nice atmosphere, really liked the color schemes. I’m tired of battery operated flames, and was impressed by their hurricane candles. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu, and both meals were plentiful portions of quality food.

Great place to have lunch or grab a cocktail. The pre-fix menu has a decent selection and good value for the money. Our waitress was friendly. The service about average. It’s a nice place to catch up with friends or date night. Was fairly crowded for lunch. Get there early.

I went to Wantagh Inn recently and had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a bar. The owner came up to me — clearly drunk, barely able to stand — and randomly asked for my ID. I handed it to him without any issue, and even though I am 21, he told me I had to leave. The bouncer, who hadn’t checked anyone’s ID at the door, looked at mine under a light and said, “This looks good to me, it’s real.” Even he admitted my ID was fine, but then said, “If the owner wants you to leave, you gotta go.”

Meanwhile, none of the 10 people I was with were asked for ID at all. The whole situation was unprofessional and embarrassing, especially since I hadn’t done anything wrong. I’ll definitely never go back. I’d much rather give my business to Mulcahy’s — better atmosphere, better staff, and a place that actually treats paying customers with respect.

My wife and I have been going to the Wantagh inn for many years . We have been going there for Thanksgiving also with our family for many years . I recently made reservations for Christmas Eve dinner for 4 people with no issues. I called today 11/29/2025 to add 2 extra people for the same time as the original reservation. I was told that they could not make the adjustment for that time I would have to come much later that evening . Told the gentleman that that was to late could he please squeeze us in for the original time slot. I said we are talking about 2 extra people it wasn’t like a lot . Told me it was not possible. I guess be a good returning customer does not mean much . Very disappointed will not be bringing my family to this restaurant anymore.
