I hadn’t been back to Yankton for 20 years. Back then the Walnut was always a great small town bar that was even open at 7am when we finished a night-shift at the State Hospital. After 2 decades this place seems exactly the same which was exactly what I was hoping. It was the perfect Yankton experience with great Yankton people.
A total stranger bought me my first Jameson’s, and even though I was a stranger to everyone there, I felt right at home. Thank you to the bartender, Nate and thank you to Rob and Abby. There were two other ladies there but it’s been a couple months and I don’t want to get there names wrong, but everyone was genuinely friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a more quintessential Yankton experience.

Just a small town bar in a medium size town. Drinks and service are good. The long tables are a little crowded making it hard to get in and out of. But the atmosphere is nice and the people are friendly.

Friendly bar with a great atmosphere.. Was visiting from Omaha and felt like home.. Sierra rocks it behind the bar..Great looking gal with A great attitude..The first place I will visit when I go back to Yankton!!
