Omg yall- this is a warm southern mawmaw hug in food form! Kenny told us the hamburger steak with the wine/onion/mushroom sauce was a favorite and it’s obv why. The flavor is just devine. The fried chicken was impeccable. Both the Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were clearly homemade. The comeback sauce was STELLAR. And guys…..the cake I got the hummingbird because I’d never heard of it before and it was wonderful. We are sitting here waiting for a to go box and already about what we’d order next time.

Thoroughly, thoroughly recommend. Home style southern cooking. Very juicy fried chicken with a crispy and flavourful skin. Fried shrimp dinner was also great. Very friendly service. The dessert section is massive and is made by a neighbour- they are so immaculate we thought they were shop bought! Very friendly service.

Walnut Hills is amazing. The chicken was fabulous. The collard greens were the best I’ve ever had and the sweet potato casserole melted in my mouth. The best part, though, was talking with the server. She was so friendly & had fascinating stories. She exemplifies Southern hospitality. When we arrived just after 5 on the Saturday before Christmas, there was no wait. Prices were reasonable & portions were huge.

Loved my salmon salad. Very yummy. My husband’s fried chicken and mashed potatoes looked delicious, but chicken was dry and both lacked flavor. Service was wonderful. We enjoyed the historic feel of the restaurant.

Two words – FRIED CHICKEN. It was amazing! Not a surprise at all that it has won awards! Totally worth comin for! I might also add that the sweet potato casserole was heavenly! Would definitely come back!

Beautiful presentation and wonderful waiter! The location was gorgeous, yet I wondered why it was Soo empty.. I found out when I took a bite of my food. Nothing was seasoned properly, if at all. It was a serious let down. Every bite was like a mouthful of nothingness. The chicken fried steak was burnt and dry and the cranberry juice was flat also. The female waitress storming thru the restaurant, complaining about how mad she was over her break, was entertaining tho. Lol

Absolutely horrible and highway robbery for the way these people charge you with little to no food. I couldn’t even eat this nor did my son touch this. Look at those tenders they gave him. Drinks are hot and yet charge you 3.00 dollars for can soda. This place should be a shame of themselves. I will never ever come again. This was my first time and last. This cost 75.00 dollars. I am so angry. I am requesting a full refund. I did not eat this at all. I cannot believe this. I do not live in Vicksburg and was only passing through. The reviews were very high. I tried to take it back and they were closed. I end up throwing it anyway. I never felt so robbed in my life. This should be a crime. Update: I called the restaurant and told the lady I didn’t live there and wanted a full refund. The lady called me back and said they will offer me a gift card. I declined as I do not live there and will never want to come here again. She called back and said, the owner can’t give you a refund but a gift card. This is a predatory business. They are serving you with bare minimum, no freshness, can soda they charge 3.00 dollars, and breaking off one cornbread into pieces for multiple people. This place needs to be reported and shut down.
