We usually, stop in for a bit to eat on our road trips. Had the fried chicken, mash potatoes, green beans, roll, fountain drink, and a slice of chocolate pie. The chicken was a bit dry, but everything else was good. Service was friendly for the most part. I’m not a fan of all the dead animals around, but it’s still an okay place.

Love the actual boomland store itself. I’m not sure if this restaurant is owned by the same people or not. I hope it’s not because this food was really bad. Mac and cheese watered down. Dried out corn bread. Dried up chicken that must’ve been sitting out for hours. The only thing impossible to mess up here is the corn. Would never eat here again. Did I mention it’s almost $30 for two people? Insanity for what your getting.

Food was good ( Cafeteria style service), was pricey for type of food. Animal scene inside was interesting. Store has alot of items to look at. Great place to check out while traveling !

We were able to meet my family there yesterday, and have an impromptu Christmas gathering. It was a halfway point for all of us. They suggested that we eat at Wally‘s and that it was good, but after reading all the reviews I was very skeptical. You walk in, and they have a huge cafeteria line where you walk down and pick what you like. We ranged from fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, baked chicken, roasted beef, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and some other mismatch things. I have to tell you this place far surpassed my expectations. The chicken was absolutely amazing the dumplings were freaking wonderful. It was like just eating in grandma‘s kitchen. Everything had a great flavor it was hot and ready to go! The desert was moist and super sweet. Staff was wonderful easy to deal with and made everything great.

My family traveled from Texas to Illinois and decided to stop off here to get a bite to eat en route. I’m not certain if this woman was the owner or not, but she was not very pleasant at all. She gave off racist vibes. While ordering our food, she made an effort to give the smallest portions rather than what we asked for. Not to mention once we approached the Cashier to pay, she made it a point to walk up to the register to make sure we paid for our food as if to imply that we weren’t. The worst $30 we ever spent for meritocre food and terrible service. Never again!!!

They provide meals cafeteria style. You choose what goes on your plate, and each item is pri ed individually. Or you can pla e a grill order for sandwiches and sides. The. Prices were very reasonable. I had a Polish Philly for the first time in my life. It was delicious. They also had a hand dipped, Blue Bunny ice cream bar, which we had to have on this humid day. Ice cream shops always make you feel like a kid again, and the friendliness of the staff made us happy that we had joined them for lunch.

Dried out, cafeteria quality and cafeteria-style. Prices are very high ($32, two plates} considering the factors above. They wanted to charge me $0.50 to put a little water, yes, water…in my previously paid for cup with the paid for ice. Spoke with management and they stuck with their “policy”. Shocked and disappointed. Won’t be “dining” there again and suggest potential clients reconsider the McDonalds across the street or Sikeston 8 miles west.

I hadn’t eaten here in a couple of years. I wanted something else to eat, but they were closed. I decided to eat at Wally’s. I ordered the fried chicken. The gentleman who served me was very nice. He told me that the chicken was very hor, and to be careful eating it. It was hot and tasted so good. I also ordered a burger. It was okay. I will say this, I will eat here again if I can get some of the same chicken as I had on this particular day that I ate here.
