I’m here for work, and jumped on DoorDash to place an order. A handful of reviews highly suggested adding zaatar. I was curious and like trying something new, so I included a message in the comments to add some zaatar, and also ordered some wings. After I placed the order, I jumped in the shower. While in the shower, my phone started ringing left and right. I stepped out eventually, dripping everywhere, and answered the phone. Kudos to the workers calling me to confirm details of my order, but this might be where maybe I messed up? She was asking about the zaatar, the pizza sauce, how it’s done, I don’t know, I’m dripping over the floor of my hotel bathroom’s floor. She was very polite, and me not knowing anything, politely told her I don’t know anything about it but I saw people raving about it in the reviews, and asked her to make it “you typically make it.” That might have been my error. I sauntered my pasty body back into the shower.
The food showed up, and upon initial presentation, looked great. I was salivating. Bit into the pizza, and it had decent flavor, but seemed very dry and different. The flavor was there, but something seemed off. Upon further inspection, there was zero pizza sauce. That’s what was missing, and why it seemed so dry. I quickly realized my “do it how others do it” comment probably wasn’t the best idea. I could tell with sauce, this pizza would’ve been top notch, but unfortunately in this condition I could only eat one and a half slices and ended up tossing the rest, which was unfortunate because I was planning on bringing the rest to work tomorrow for lunch. I just couldn’t do it though. Without sauce, its dryness level was equivalent to a Popeyes biscuit.
On the other hand, the wings were absolutely delicious. Fat, juicy, and full of flavor. Would 100% recommend.
The difficulty in this review was how many stars. I contemplated 2 or 3 stars, but chalked most of the discrepancies up to miscommunication and misunderstanding, mostly on my part, and don’t want to harm the rating of a small business.
I was excited for it and wanted to love it, but I honestly just didn’t. But I am also human enough to admit much of the fault lied more with me than the actual business.
They have halal options and now you know.
