Since 1972, Walden’s Lakeview Dining & Venue has served its community with delicious cuisine and a top notch, elegant experience. As the first restaurant to be built on Lake Conroe, we had the unique opportunity to use the panoramic lake views to our advantage, and create a beautiful experience for all who dine with us. Walden’s has been the hub of social activity on the lake ever since.

I didn’t realize we were going to a “private” club on Lake Conroe, but this little place is a gem. Everything, down to dishware is extremely dated, but that one of the reasons I loved this place! The waiters still do Steak Diane and flambe fruit for ice cream table side. Miguel, our waiter, has been there for 27 years and was amazing. While the menu and food scream 1989, it was prepared perfectly and tasted delicious. This little snoozer is also a fantastic people watching place.

The view is stunning. The food is delicious and the live music is perfect. Especially the piano player. Hayden had people gathered around his piano all night playing all requests. Highly recommend you come on a night he is playing.

My husband I had our wedding at Walden. We feel unbelievably blessed and lucky to have had our wedding at your venue. This is the perfect place for a wedding. Everyone appreciated the beauty and nature ❤️. The only thing we didn’t like was the $300 cost for a dance floor, the dance floor was too small for our small wedding. 3 couples dancing on the dance floor was a uncomfortable space and guests noticed it. We should’ve not have requested for a dance floor but overall the experience was amazing. Definitely recommend it…

Great view of the lake from the huge dining room — the perfect spot for a relaxing weekend brunch. We took my sister here for her birthday, and it couldn’t have been a better choice.
The buffet was excellent, with plenty of variety and everything fresh and well-presented. The waffle station chef was friendly and made golden, perfectly crisp waffles right on the spot.
Our waiter was attentive without hovering, and the staff overall made us feel genuinely welcomed.

This is cafeteria at best. Worst quality of food. Pasta has chemical smell and taste; meatball was a mystery meat; and surf and turf was a piece of small poor grade od meat with two baby shrimps. We ordered for medium rare and it was so overcooked. Who can mess up on fried Chicken – this place did. Service was slow and wait staff was inexperienced

We had Sunday brunch here and it was fabulous! When you walk in you are greeted with a nice waterfall feature. The staff was very attentive. Sunday brunch is a buffet with great selections from fruit, omelets, tenderloin, desserts, breads and even empanadas. The food was fresh and delicious. There is a full bar and all seating has a lake view. As far as attire, there was everything from shorts or jeans to dresses but for the most part, it was comfortable and fairly casual. I loved this place and can’t wait to return!

This was our first time here. We made RSVP our table, and when we went in the hostess greeted us with absolute kindness and professionalism. There was live music and the singer did amazing with the songs that he sung. Our waiter hit it out of the park. He new exactly what to say and very detail orient. We will definitely be coming back he soon! The food well words cannot express how wonderful it was.

We have been coming here for years, the quality of the food used to be really good.
We went back twice this month but the quality of the food is really disappointing!
Everything is cold including items that are supposed to be served hot, for example the meat seems to stay way too long at room temperature! The food is not tasty. They have much less choices that they used to have at the buffet. The grilled vegetables weren’t grilled as mentioned but steamed and ton of cheap cheese on top that made them very chewy. The desserts look like thawed out from a frozen box and tasted rancid. Awful taste!
The internet based payment system wasn’t working, after waiting at least half an hour, they wanted to do it the old fashioned way, writing all our credit card info on a piece of paper, we disagreed due to our card data security. So finally we agreed to go back next week to pay in person, which will be a waste of time. They should really have a back up system for their internet payment processing!

My husband, eldest son and I went for Sunday brunch. The elegant restaurant and the three walls of windows view of the lake were invigorating. The variety of breakfast foods (even for a vegetarian like me) was fresh and cooked with creativity and care. But what really made the meal special was the people: the talented and interesting omelet chef, the shawarma (well, I didn’t eat this, but I was impressed this was included in a brunch buffet) griller, the attentive waiters and the accomplished pianist.
I felt like queen for a day, and at an exceptionally reasonable cost.
