Amazing. Not just a concept idea with the decor, I think this was actually the best Japanese food I’ve had in Manchester. We are all vegetarian and the menu had loads of options for us. Including a vegetarian kids option (which are hard to find and a common annoyance for us). Excellent service and great atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Had worried that the pictures on google of the decor were going to cause my eyes a massive visual disturbance and nearly didnt end up coming here. Wholly glad i did though. The lighting and additional decoration makes the place feel a lot cosier than online images would suggest.

However, food was stunning, some of the best belly salmon sashimi ive ever had and the staff were beyond excellent. A place i will definitely be returning to next time im in manchester.

Myself and a couple of friends have recently moved to Manchester and decided to try Waku Waku for the first time. It was a lovely experience with great food and warm staff.

The food and drink itself lived up to the photos online and tasted just as good. The portion sizes for the price you pay are definitely worth the money and it is a good example of authentic food. It was nice seeing the variety of options and ability to interchange proteins as someone that doesn’t eat meat, making the restaurant good for both vegetarians and vegans. Across the four of us, we tried a variety of different foods and didn’t find a single complaint!

The decoration also 100% lives up to the buzz, feeling like you’re in a drawing. There were a couple of sections that may need a revamp, such as the floor, but that’s just the natural ware and tear of a busy establishment!

The staff were all extremely catering to any needs and made us feel welcome. We didn’t feel rushed or judged for taking time with looking at the menus and had no issues with paying separately. One of the servers also immediately asked my dietary requirements after ordering vegetarian food, showing that the staff care about their customers.

Overall it was an extremely please experience and we would definitely go back!

The interior is really beautiful and super original – definitely one of the highlights of the place. The food is very creatively presented and looks impressive, but unfortunately the taste is just average. Also, the stools/chairs are pretty uncomfortable, which makes it hard to relax and enjoy your time there. Overall, a cool-looking spot, but there’s room for improvement.

Finally found a café in the UK that reminds us of those chic photo-worthy spots we used to visit in Hong Kong to celebrate birthdays!

The food quality is excellent, and the 2D-style décor is both trendy and unique. What’s most impressive is that many of their thoughtful arrangements come at no extra charge. Even I couldn’t resist giving a £1 tip—super satisfied! The average cost is only around £20 per person, totally worth it!

Super fun and quirky restaurant inspired by 3D cartoon design. We didn’t have a reservation but they still accommodated us on a busy weekend. Staff was super nice, food was tasty and overall we paid a decent price for everything we had. Would 100% recommend for a change of scenery.

Twice I have visited, and both times I’ve had the best food served to me. Lovely friendly staff, the food is just amazing! I ordered the sushi set and chicken gyozas and the flavours were mouth watering! Best sushi I’ve had! Stepping inside is like stepping into a comic! Such a funky little restaurant. One of my favourite places now in Manchester!

Perfect omurice – something I always wanted to try but didn’t find in any other restaurant. Chicken meals are halal here. Every dish was perfect.

What a fun unique restaurant! For a small place, it is brimming with energy and personality.

The service was extremely quick and friendly, staff clearly got on well which was a nice change of pace from a lot of places where a “professional facade” can enforce waiters to seem robotic.

Food was generous and flavourful with very reasonable pricing. Would strongly recommend (and do book as even on a Thursday it was fairly busy).
