Being Japanese, we asked our friend to be our guide, so we could have a unique experience!!
We tasted a variety of dishes that transported us as if we were in the land of the rising sun! The quality of the ingredients is top-notch. The wine and sake list is very interesting, and there’s also a cocktail list.
The service was attentive, professional, and very friendly.
Recommended for connoisseurs and gourmets.
We chose two sakes that, in my opinion, are unique and of excellent quality.
The bill is proportionate to the quality and shouldn’t shock you!!!
We’ve never dined at this level of Japanese cuisine, and I’m honestly happy we chose this restaurant to celebrate a visit to friends after such a long time. A unique experience!!!
– Toasted Sandwich of Truffle & Parma Ham
– Spaghettini with Lobster, Tomato, Chilli and Basil
– Dark Chocolate with Hazelnut Mint (forget the actual name)
Overall, love their service!
I prepaid for Waku Ghin’s signature matcha opera cake when I dined at the restaurant with my family last week. I picked it up a day late due to a medical emergency.
I arrived at Waku Ghin around 3pm yesterday (10/30). The receptionist (a Filipina woman, I believe her name is April) was openly hostile – no greeting, just an aggressive lecture about how she was “going to throw the cake away” and that I wouldn’t get a refund. I told her I had a medical emergency the day before, but she continued to rant that she was going to throw away the cake. Maybe she was having a bad day, but she should not be lashing out at a customer. For a one-Michelin-star restaurant, this type of behavior is unacceptable and extremely inappropriate.
It’s a shame because my family and I do enjoy the food at Waku Ghin, but this encounter left such a poor taste that it will be hard for us to return.
The first time we came, we were at the chef’s table for the sushi menu and it was really one of the best omakase experience. However, we were bummed that the sushi chef has left and Waku Ghin is currently not offering that anymore. 🙁
