We waited a few minutes to be seated which was fair enough as they were quite busy with it being the run up to Christmas.
When we was seated we were waiting around 15 minutes before our server David came over to take our drinks order.
We asked for The Cider with strawberry syrup, peach ice tea and the new spiced plum and orange drink.
We were told that we couldn’t have strawberry syrup in the cider even though it had been done for us several times even after it was removed from the menu, this was disapointing as the cider isn’t as nice without the syrup. The peach ice tea was good as always but the Plum drink never showed up.
Food took around 20 minutes to come. The kids bento box was good and so was the new Christmas Cranberry Katsu chicken. The Katsu chicken didn’t really taste any different than usual one. A hot Katsu Chicken was also brought over to the table which we sent back as we did not order it.
While we were eating our server came over and looked really confused. He went away and then came back saying we did order the additional dish because a finger brushed over the item on the menu as we were ordering. If that is how people order food then half of the menu would appear on the table. He removed the item from the bill so that was fine. We didn’t recieve a checkback at all to check if we we’re enjoying the food. Our plates weren’t cleared away and we weren’t offered desert menus. We paid on the app and wasn’t thanked by any staff for our custom on the way out. No managers were anywhere to be seen. If they had managers on the floor then maybe they could ensure the shift is running well.
The food has been consistently delicious each time. We look forward to returning soon!
We went with her recommendations and it turned out pretty great. We enjoyed the spiciness of the firecracker and the marinade of the chicken something. The food was cooked well and well spiced. I enjoyed it all.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. And the server who took time to walk us through the menu is a star! I love the layout of the venue and the ambience is classy yet approachable.
He did then offer to speak to the manager about taking it off the bill as I said I wasn’t going to eat it. To which he then returned after speaking to the manager and informed me they can’t take it off the bill as it’s included in the price of the ramen and just said “is that okay?” And he said nothing else. Fine they can’t take the price of the egg off of the bill but maybe it would have been appropriate to have been offered a drink on the house for the inconvenience? Not trying to be a snob but I also work in hospitality and I would not be happy serving that to paying customers. I’m disappointed that nothing was done to rectify it, although I appreciated the small amount of effort to do so. Also the actual ramen itself was not very hot. As I said, usually it’s great and I enjoy the food. But definitely not this time.
Would definitely go again
This is a good place for clear plates.
The table next to us was complaining about the air con being so cold. We just ate more to stay warm. Winner winner chicken noodles for dinner and lunch
I’ve been here loads, but standing in line..EVERYTIME.. is always a drag.
This time, I fancied some Pad Thai, had to really search for actual rice noodles in that! The Gyoza ramen was tasty though.
Ordered a mini yasai katsu curry meal for the kid, but she wasn’t happy with that.
And the service? A bit of mess.
Ice cream first (despite asking to serve it at the end), then juice, then Kimchi (what do I do with that when I haven’t even got my main course yet)…and finally, the main dish a good 15 minutes later. By then, my kid didn’t want to eat anything at all.
Honestly, it was an okay meal, but Wagamama’s not really my thing, especially after trying it at a half a dozen different spots.
