It’s brightly colored and decorated inside and immediately makes you feel at home. They have a small stage so I think they have live entertainment some nights or karaoke or something.
The food was all the usual Mexican offerings, but top quality. So fresh and scrumptious. They even had lengua as a meat option which you don’t always see here.
All the workers were super sweet, though most of them didn’t speak much English. They were kind, attentive and it is a great dinner spot.
The vibe was great, the service was friendly, and everything came out quickly. You can tell there’s pride behind the food and the experience. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re nearby!
This is not a great date night spot because the atmosphere is very distracting and loud. They play youtube videos of famous singers and we find it really hard to focus on conversation / hear each other when we’re here.
This restaurant specializes in food from Oaxaca, Mexico.
I do speak some Spanish which helps but I think they speak some English as well.
Food was fantastic and generous in portion. My wife and I shared the pozole which hit the spot on a cold day (maybe don’t add all the peppers that come on the side unless you like really spicy food). I got quesadillas for my kids and they were huge! My little one ate two servings of rice and beans!
We will definitely be returning for more delicious food! Gracias!
Its unassuming exterior belies its festive atmosphere, brightly colored and vivid. Inside, diners are in for a treat. Traditional dishes like the mole (con pollo) are skillfully executed. Salsa is unique for Atlanta Mexican joints, and has a real kick. (And that’s the “20%” version! It also comes in 50% and 100%.) Handmade tortillas good on their own, or as a vehicle to get the last of the mole sauce.
For a special Oaxacan treat: Chapulines! Ask for them!
You will find warm hospitality and a playful staff that wants you to have fun. Mariachi on weekend nights, I hear. No shortage of cocktails, Mezcal, tequilas and cervezas and an array of specially concocted mixers that I need to try on another visit.
Go have fun at Mi Oaxaqueña. Catch a futbol game. And enjoy a taste of Oaxaca right here in Georgia.
