This is the most precious restaurant and exactly what you’d call a hole in the wall.

It’s brightly colored and decorated inside and immediately makes you feel at home. They have a small stage so I think they have live entertainment some nights or karaoke or something.

The food was all the usual Mexican offerings, but top quality. So fresh and scrumptious. They even had lengua as a meat option which you don’t always see here.

All the workers were super sweet, though most of them didn’t speak much English. They were kind, attentive and it is a great dinner spot.

My family and I stopped by for a quick meal while we were in the area, and we’re really glad we did. The food was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing it honestly felt like a home away from home.

The vibe was great, the service was friendly, and everything came out quickly. You can tell there’s pride behind the food and the experience. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re nearby!

The food is an EASY 5 stars. Fantastic quesabirria tacos and the fajitas come out sizzling and flavorful. We also love their queso, it’s pretty simple and basic, but delicious and not too runny.

This is not a great date night spot because the atmosphere is very distracting and loud. They play youtube videos of famous singers and we find it really hard to focus on conversation / hear each other when we’re here.

The food was great, and the owner was so nice! He made sure the food was safe regarding our allergies. There were seven people in our group and five of us had allergies. These are our allergies: gluten, soy, shellfish, and pork.
This restaurant specializes in food from Oaxaca, Mexico.

Don’t let the exterior fool you, this restaurant is warm and friendly. Our server was nice and quick to help us whenever we needed it.

I do speak some Spanish which helps but I think they speak some English as well.

Food was fantastic and generous in portion. My wife and I shared the pozole which hit the spot on a cold day (maybe don’t add all the peppers that come on the side unless you like really spicy food). I got quesadillas for my kids and they were huge! My little one ate two servings of rice and beans!

We will definitely be returning for more delicious food! Gracias!

Don’t overlook Mi Oaxaqueña in Doraville.

Its unassuming exterior belies its festive atmosphere, brightly colored and vivid. Inside, diners are in for a treat. Traditional dishes like the mole (con pollo) are skillfully executed. Salsa is unique for Atlanta Mexican joints, and has a real kick. (And that’s the “20%” version! It also comes in 50% and 100%.) Handmade tortillas good on their own, or as a vehicle to get the last of the mole sauce.

For a special Oaxacan treat: Chapulines! Ask for them!

You will find warm hospitality and a playful staff that wants you to have fun. Mariachi on weekend nights, I hear. No shortage of cocktails, Mezcal, tequilas and cervezas and an array of specially concocted mixers that I need to try on another visit.

Go have fun at Mi Oaxaqueña. Catch a futbol game. And enjoy a taste of Oaxaca right here in Georgia.

Not from the area, I Googled ‘carne asada’ and this place popped up. It is an unassuming location in a strip mall, but don’t let that fool you. This place is as authentic as it gets. As the only gringo inside the restaurant, this was a sign that this place was legit, and it did not disappoint. I had the Carne Asada Sope which is layered with a richly cooked refried beans, Carne Asada, lettuce, sour cream, and then also a Carnitas taco, which was sublime. The tortillas and sopes appeared to be handmade, and the meal took a few minutes to prepare, giving me the impression that everything was fresh. It was outstanding on every account. The music may be a little loud by some people standards, but everyone inside the restaurant loved it. Next time I’m in Dorville, this is where I’m going. Please check them out, you will not be disappointed.
