we go to waffle house like it’s a religious thing for a relationship it’s where our first date was so it’s our place. we just moved to cullman so was trying it out and one waitress was absolutely bubbly she’s in highschool and how she acted was outstanding. but our waitress was very rude and i didn’t appreciate it. my wife got onions in her hashbrowns but they were not given and i ordered mine with chili and it was given in a bowl. i can say that the lady with the lees teeth had the most of the biggest problem.

A little anecdote. Halloween night, me and my gang of 3 others come in. We wait for 15 minutes or so before getting a table, that’s fine. Wait another 10 before our server (Kiwi) got our drinks. 20 minutes go by without our food order being taken, and while that goes on Kiwi’s tending to people who came in after us. She tells us “I’ll get y’all’s order in just a minute” 3 times over these 20 minutes while she just kinda does whatever. Eventually our order gets taken, it takes another 20 minutes for our food to get done (I don’t blame the cooks, they were working as hard as they could with the Halloween rush), then Kiwi brings it out while holding her Starbucks order in the other hand. She sets her food down right beside my fiance’s head on the shelf next to her, and leaves it for the rest of our “dining experience.” I throw some ketchup on my hashbrowns and pick up my sandwich only to discover it’s the wrong sandwich. I tell her, it takes about 10 minutes of her arguing with the cooks about who got it wrong (pretty sure it was her since my food was swapped with another patron’s) before it’s finally in the process of getting replaced. Eventually I get my food, it was pretty mediocre, but that was probably affected by how tired and angry I was at that point. During all of this, Kiwi hardly interacts with our group, is slow on refills and spends her “free time” on her phone in plain view. Not a pleasant experience solely because of how poor of a server we got on this fateful visit. I say as a Wafflehouse fan, I will not be going back here for a while. Oh, also Kiwi totally ignored how we were splitting the tickets even though we told her.

Wish I could give it a 0. KIWI, very rude and unprofessional. We had to wait which okay we expected it but when she came to “take our order” she turns her back to us and does other things. We didn’t order because she kept walking away, and doing other things, she makes some comment about how she asked for our order, my husband then explain that we didn’t know we were supposed to be ordering because she kept walking away and turning her back. She explains she has 4 other tables to get to. My husband was frustrated and didn’t order. Me and my sister did. Everything seems to be fine. She then proceeded to go to the cook who has just been standing there the whole time and loudly complains about what my husband said. Kiwi needs to learn how to take orders properly and how customer service works.

We stopped for breakfast, seemed busy but had open tables. We walked in 3 ladies working, sat there for 10mins and no one greeted or welcomed, came over to the table. Watched one brunette cooking, heavy set lady called out orders and held on the tickets with her back to the room, and one silver blonde lady waitressing. After about 10mins my hubby asked her for coffee when she got close and she continued to ignore us. I had made eye contact with her when we came in so I know she knew we were there. We gave up and left when it was obvious we were not welcome and they didn’t care if we got service. Sad what places have become, avoid this location if traveling.

Other than 2 waitress loudly arguing while the manager was working the grill and done Nothing about the loud curses between the waitress staff…..the manager should have squashed it. And they were ever table open but not a single table had been cleaned or wiped out leaving no clean sitting areas 🙁

I never thought that eating at a Waffle House would end up being my favorite dining experience. My two daughters are going to a local military challenge camp for three weeks, so this was going to be their last meal before they only get 2 minutes to eat every meal. The day we dropped them off, they wanted Waffle House for breakfast. The food was good, as it normally is at Waffle House, but the service was exceptional. Our waitress, Julia, and another waitress, Megan, made sure this would be a day my daughters and I would never forget.
Halfway through our meal, Megan leaned over and whispered to my daughters that she left some extra money in the jukebox so they could play some songs while we ate. After explaining to them that I was dropping them off at a camp for three weeks and was going to miss them, they offered us Waffle House hats and took our picture. That didn’t just make it a great time but a very memorable Father’s Day. My girls told me when we left that this would end up being one of their core memories. We do quite a lot as a family, so for them to say that carries a lot of weight. I can’t thank those two waitresses enough for turning a not-so-easy day into a memory my daughters and I will never forget.

I ordered the All American breakfast. My bacon had a long black hair in it. My first bowl of grits was so lumpy that you couldn’t even stir them. My second bowl was not one large lump instead it was a bunch of little lumps. By the time I got my food my eggs were cold. I ended up eating one piece of my toast and not much else. They offered me a 4 percent discount. Iu will not go back and I will make sure people know how badly I was treated for this!

Great meal at a great example of this classic chain. Stereotypically, you don’t always picture Waffle Houses as clean, but this one was absolutely spotless at 6:30 in the morning. Ask for a table in Shannon’s section and you will be well taking care of!
