@Waffle House, you’ve got some real rockstars in Tony and Tracy who were taking care of everyone tonight at the restaurant. As a kid growing up 12+ hours from a Waffle House, I had one great late-night Waffle House experience as a kid and I’ve been chasing it for several years down south — delighted to say Tracy and Tony were a treat to dine in with and made the Waffle House a place I once again look forward to visiting. They were super friendly, the place was genuinely clean and it was a very enjoyable experience.

I hate to do this, but I must be honest with the review. I had breakfast at this restaurant on 10/21/2024, around 6 am. I was a few folks in there, primarily a table of 4-6 older gentlemen who probably come there regularly. I came in and saw them and noticed a homeless person, all bundled up, sleeping in one of the rear tables. I sat down, and shortly thereafter, Chris, the waiter, came over and asked for my drink order. I requested coffee and water. He made a fresh pot of coffee and brought me back my water. I offered to give him my order, but he did not ask for it and took it. I noticed after he took my order he went to tend to the table of the older gentleman. He never communicated my order to the cook, who stood idly for about 10 minutes. After waiting, I noticed two other customers come in well after me, and their order was taken and food delivered. I am still waiting for coffee. Finally, I got up, walked over to the counter, and asked Chris if I could have some coffee and if he would be kind enough to put my order in. He seemed a bit irritated that I asked and walked off fast to the back, mumbling I can not take this, and I am trying to be nice. I am still unsure if my order was placed after new customers came in, and I had been in the restaurant for 20 minutes. Finally, Chris brought me coffee and cream. A few minutes later, the cook brought me my food, which I might add was perfectly cooked.
While eating, another homeless man came asking diners for money. Someone buys him a cup of coffee, and then he goes and stands outside the glass window overlooking the tables sitting along that side of the restaurant; it is kind of creepy and weird. On my way out, Chris apologized and said he had been short-handed since 2 am, and it was a little crazy. I gave him a small tip and departed the restaurant. The homeless man outside asks me for money again and follows me to the parking lot. It was not a good dining experience, except the cook nailed my well-done hash browns and other food. v/r, Dr. K. My first time at a waffle house. Very tiny place, felt very awkward. Went on a Saturday morning so there was no place left to sit, so we got our food to go. Was a short wait and the food was excellent. The staff were all excellent as well

The food was delicious, cooked exactly right, fresh hot, served quickly and the waitress was friendly and kept my drink filled. She also gave me a new full to go cup. (I hate when I have to pour my old drink into a to go cup, it goes flat quicker, pet peeve I guess.)

The food was good and there was a lot for the money. My waffle was a bit on the doughier side, which made it a bit hard to get through. The eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns were all great!
The waitress was absolutely on point, kind, and always checking up on me.

Enjoyed a quick breakfast while travelling home from a wedding. The staff was super friendly and very hardworking. It was a Sunday morning and they were providing excellent service while also serving a full restaurant and to go orders. Food was ready fast, tasted great, and special requests like well done bacon were honored perfectly.

First time I had a bacon egg and cheese biscuit there it was really good. The waffles don’t come with fruit so I didn’t really enjoy my Waffle as much as I wanted the waffle with fruit and whipped cream

Table was dirty and hadn’t been wiped. Iced tea was so weak that it was really just slightly amber colored water and we were not offered refills. Virtually NOTHING about the order was close to correct; ordered 4 eggs, but got two, ordered bacon, but got sausage, asked for dry toast, but it was buttered. Ordered only ham and eggs, but got grits all over them. Usually Waffle House is my happy place, certainly NOT this time! I think I’ll avoid this location for a while. The only positive was that the food we did get, tasted good.

Never thought I would see the day when a Waffle House would rank so high among my choices of eateries. But let me tell you now, Johnny on the Spot makes all the difference. The man did not stop moving the whole time I was there. Courteous, helpful, quick with service and all while sporting the cleanest apron I’ve ever seen on a Waffle House employee. Oh, and did I mention he had a necktie on as well! Three cheers for Johnny and the wonderful service rendered. Plenty of food to feed my hungry crew for under $30. Walked in and out with our order in less than ten minutes. Very tasty traditional breakfast food, and (I can’t mention this enough) some of the best service here in Lynchburg.

Outstanding Service from Andre – Give This Man a Raise!

We recently visited the Waffle House on Wards Road in Lynchburg, VA, as a party of five—three of which were restless kiddos! It was busy when we arrived, but the moment we walked in, we noticed one thing: Andre was the only one working the floor.

From start to finish, Andre absolutely carried the shift. He greeted us, took our order, got our drinks, and even jumped on the grill to cook our food because the actual cook was outside smoking. Not just once—but four separate times during our 30-40 minute visit.

Andre handled it all with professionalism and a positive attitude. He kept the restaurant clean, fulfilled multiple large drink orders (including one for a group of 9!), and never stopped moving. We watched him juggle guests, food, drinks, and cleanup all while staying composed and courteous.

Meanwhile, the cook spent more time outside than inside. It was frustrating to see, but Andre made sure service never skipped a beat.

Andre deserves recognition, appreciation, and a serious promotion. He’s the kind of employee every business dreams of. If it weren’t for him, I’m not sure how that shift would’ve run at all.

Thank you, Andre! You made our visit great despite the chaos.
