I travel full-time for work and have visited Waffle House locations in nearly every state. Without question, this one stands out as the best I’ve experienced.
From 12:30 pm to 1:15 pm, I sat in my red flannel jacket observing the staff and atmosphere. The team was upbeat, professional, and truly impressive. Customer service was exceptional—every staff member carried themselves with positivity and care. I was especially pleased to see gloves being worn while preparing food, something I haven’t seen in years.
My order was prepared exactly as requested and tasted delicious. The cook went above and beyond, checking in with guests, offering refills, and making sure everyone felt taken care of. Cleanliness was top-notch, both behind the counter and throughout the seating area.
What really stood out was the team environment. The staff worked together seamlessly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that’s rare to find these days. As someone who spends most of my time on the road, moments like this mean a lot. I’ve been feeling a bit down lately, but the positive energy here lifted my spirits.
I finished my meal but decided to stay a while longer, sipping tea and enjoying the environment. Thank you, Waffle House on Route 17 in Fredericksburg, VA—you’ve set the bar high. I’ll be back often during my time here. ❤️ Wish I could rate them a 10

We had a wonderful experience at this Waffle House! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated at a clean table. Our server, Trejon, was absolutely fantastic -friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect for us.
The cook (unfortunately, I didn’t catch his name) did an amazing job -the food was fresh, delicious, and cooked just right. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the whole team seemed to work well together to make guests feel comfortable.

My first time visiting a Waffle house. Davon, greeted us and cleared a space at counter, the old fashioned way I remember and miss. He made us feel welcomed and his manner was as if we were family. Trey was busy working two grills and multiple orders simultaneously. You can tell he is proud of his craft. I looked at my husband and said, I need to use our Blackstone again, Trey convinced me as he performed. Then Christy came through refilling items and dropped waffles as everyone was moving. She had team leadership air to her and true to form, she wiped and cleaned up behind everyone. She jumped in on the grill with Trey as she was anticipating his needs. I even thought, Id work with them, then my age kicked in and I thought, Ill come visit lol. Such a great place for me this morning. ,….a well oiled machine this team is and they have one loyal customer in me and my family.

Shout out to Dadrian, the chef, for making not only the perfect waffle and Texas Toast sandwich, but when asking for crispy hash browns, they were 10 out of 10 on point! Jacob, our server, was kind and friendly to top it all off. It was my daughter’s first experience at a waffle house, and we couldn’t be more happier! Thank you so much for the wonderful food and excellent service, and super clean bathrooms as well!

During the time I went was during Thanksgiving Weekend, so it was really full. Normally it has a bit more space and more parking, for sure. The waitress was absolutely lovely, very patient and understanding. She was hospitable and amazing. Honestly, all the workers there seemed lovely. They meshed well together and had a nice vibe. The food was great, like usual. I’ve never had a bad Waffle House meal. It’s a comfort food that’s usually cheap. I would absolutely recommend a Waffle House of any sorts.

On my our home from Petersburg, VA to New Jersey we had to stop because we don’t have a Waffle House. We picked a really good location. Food and service were really good. Whoever was in charge of the music was playing a good variety of tunes.

Food was good and our server was very good, but just a note here to management. We waited and other people waited while a teenage boy sat at a booth eating nothing while his girlfriend who works here went back and forth visiting with him. People filled the front seats in the waiting area and couldn’t sit because the kid just sat there. When we left he was still there and his girlfriend was still going back and forth visiting him. I would also think the other servers would be annoyed as she took constant breaks. Not great a great business plan. And pretty rude.

I recently visited the Waffle House on Route 17 in Fredericksburg, and unfortunately, it was a pretty disappointing experience. While the restaurant has the usual Waffle House charm, one issue stood out that I couldn’t overlook: they allow dogs to eat off the same plate as humans. I witnessed a dog licking and eating from the plate of a customer sitting nearby, which was really off-putting and unsanitary.
As a place known for casual, quick bites, it was already a little questionable to see pets in such close proximity to food, but when the pet is actually sharing the plate? That crosses a line. The staff seemed indifferent to the situation, which made it even worse.
