I have been going to the Waffle House in Hickory/Belair, MD since they first opened. It has always been a top notch experience from the food to the service until today.
I don’t know what caused the change but everything about my visit today went wrong except for the coffee and the bacon (hard to screw those up).
My scrambled eggs were cold
They initially forgot my waffle and when I finally received it, it was overcooked.
My hash browns were supposed to be scattered and covered (with onion) and they forgot the onion and they were undercooked.
The raisin toast had a quarter sized dab of butter on each piece.
And when I mentioned all of this to the server she took no personal responsibility. She did remove the cost of the waffle from the check though.

I had a great experience at this Waffle House! The staff was super friendly and quick with service. My food came out hot, fresh, and just how I ordered it—the waffles were fluffy, the hash browns crispy, and the coffee hit the spot. The place was clean and had that classic Waffle House vibe that feels welcoming any time of day. Definitely one of the better locations I’ve been to—will be coming back for sure!

If you’re anywhere near this Waffle House, do yourself a favor and pull up.
I walked in expecting the usual—but what I got was next-level hospitality, cleanliness, and flavor that deserves its own billboard.
First off: Clean. Organized. On point. From the tables to the counters, this place was spotless. You can tell they actually care about the environment you eat in, and that alone puts them miles ahead of most diners.
But let’s talk about the heart of the experience — Shirah and Bree.
Bree- isn’t just a waitress, she’s a whole mood. Professional, warm, and sharp — she makes sure everything hits right and checks on you like you’re family, not just a ticket number.
Shirah? A beast on the grill. Personality is next level. Kindness is immaculate and customer service is PERFECT! SHE SHOULD BE MANAGER! That kitchen energy is calm, focused, and she turns that waffle iron into magic. Watching her work is like watching an artist in motion — fast, clean, and always with a little smile.
These two together? Dynamic duo. Period.
You don’t just get food here. You get a vibe. A moment. A reason to come back.
I’m not even from the area, but if I was, this would be my go-to spot.
This isn’t just a Waffle House — this is the place to be.
You will be happy with this place.

WAFFLE HOUSE! This is my favorite breakfast restaurant. Waffle House doesn’t pretend to be anything other than a place to get a good meal that’s not expensive. I ordered the All-Star Special with cheesy grits, cheesy scrambled eggs, and sausage. The restaurant was nearly empty, and the staff was friendly and professional. The food arrived very quickly and was delicious. I didn’t get the good WAFFLE HOUSE coffee because I had been driving for 10 hours and was over caffinated. I suggest stopping at WAFFLE HOUSE because it’s a good, consistent place to eat. If you want fancy. If you want a place to brag about going to on social media, WAFFLE HOUSE ain’t the place. Simple food. Good food. Nice people. Enjoy. I did.

This waffle house is located right near the Bel Air bypass. Fast and tasty food just like any typical Waffle House. This location has a really friendly atmosphere with smiling faces. I had the Texas breakfast sandwich. My hashbrowns were cooked perfectly with some cheese on top. Coffee was a nice wake up tool also. I will return.

This review is coming from someone who frequently visits the Waffle House. Went to one I haven’t been to for awhile and easily Hands down the worst service, and food was just as bad if not worse. Some high points, blackened bacon, blackened waffles, Texas toast had the texture of being dipped in water, and I understand the standard. But clean just a little that the fried food doesn’t have the flavor of fish. Basically means your oil and surfaces haven’t been cleaned for quite sometime.

I have to say this is one of the WORST WAFFLE HOUSES I have ever eaten at and I have eaten at A LOT of them throughout multiple states & this ONE was terrible ….what waffle house has to ask the customer what an omelette
is and how to make one???? The food was disgusting … the hashbrowns were undercooked and looked like ramen noodles smh and very disappointing…..I have uploaded some photos to validate my review… eat here at your OWN RISK …YOU have been warned .

This is a dependable place to grab a decent breakfast. For the money, the food is reasonable and served fairly promptly. Table service is acceptable, but don’t expect too much or you will be disappointed. We waited for basics like salt and pepper, spreads for toast, and coffee (including refills). On the plus side, we weren’t rushed and were able to talk business without pressure to make the table available for others.

I personally love a good waffle house on a road trip, and this one had lovely service atmosphere and food! I highly recommend if you get a waffle with chocolate chips or peanut butter to fold it over.

Having never eaten at a Waffle Hose we wanted to try on our way to D C. We got the cheese grits and cheese egg platter. And I got a side of bacon and sausage. The cheese was laying on top of the grits and not mixed in like the pic. There was more cheese than egg. My husband’s raisin toast was burnt. The sausage patties were the size and thickness of a silver dollar and dry as hell. I really wish I had taken pics but I was pissed!! There were two plates left on counter which looked like we had partially uneaten by two gentlemen. Upon checkout when asked how everything was we voiced our complaints and I said terrible and why. You think the would have comped the meal or taken something off bill but nope. Having been a first time customer at a Waffle House I am skeptical of trying another if that is how they do.
