Originally from the South, I’ve been on the hunt for delicious BBQ. Wade’s was a first for me, and they didn’t disappoint. Overall, I’d rate it an 8/10. I ordered the 2-dinner plate which included smoked beef brisket and St. Louis style ribs, paired with the recommended mac and cheese and turkey collard greens. The ribs were well-seasoned and not overly saucy, though a tad extra crispy. However, the overall flavor was great. The brisket, with its hint of pepper in every bite, was my favorite—absolutely delicious.
The counter staff suggested the sides, both of which were excellent. The mac and cheese stole the show with its texture and intense flavor. While the collard greens were a bit too vinegar-heavy for my taste, the turkey legs and peppers still offered great flavors.
The cornbread was a perfect 10/10. I regret not ordering an extra one.
It’s an incredibly laid-back spot, so feel free to come as you are. The owner was personable, attentive, and polite! I’ll definitely return for another visit!

I was expecting a fantastic meal but it was mediocre at best. Unfortunately the best parts of my order were the Orange soda and the cornbread. The cornbread, although greasy, was sweet and satisfying. I thought I was getting pulled chicken but what I got was mostly bones and impossible to separate the edible chicken by hand. No utensils or fresh naps were provided with my order making it near impossible to eat in my car in the lot nearby, fortunately i had some plastic silverware from home but it broke. And the “grilled vegetables” were nothing but average microwaveable mixed vegetables from the supermarket. The mac and cheese was a bit tastier but still did not look like the one in the web picture in my opinion. They gave me a few slices of brisket to try but they were not covered in bbq sauce so they were tasteless. I had a nice conversation with the staff including Danielle about the business and origins of the name and had high hopes for the meal, and still gave a good tip when paying up front (before eating) in anticipation of excellence. My overall opinion of this establishment after this visit is that the non-meat and service options need fine tuning and the meat choice should be verified with the customer to make sure they know what they are getting into.

This place is strictly take out only. There is a mini parking lot where you can park but it fills up quickly. From the parking lot, you have to walk down the alley.
They have a website where you can make an order online but there is a small hospitality fee. If you don’t wanna pay the fee, you should call to order.
I think this is the only bbq place is the greater Boston area that sells beef ribs and it is huge. Tender meat falls off the bone and 1 rib is enough for 1 person by itself. The combo plates portion is large too. Definitely have leftovers for another 2 meals.
The sweet potato side was a bit too sweet for me though. The sweet lime flavor coleslaw wasn’t bad. I enjoyed their cornbread a lot. Crispy edges but not burnt at all.

Wade BBQ has the best meats in Somerville! I got the 2 meat combo with brisket and pork belly burnt ends. Slather that meat in their signature BBQ and every bite is heaven.
I saw another review about the corn bread being greasy—it couldn’t be farther from the truth. My corn bread was fluffy and crunchy in all the right ways, drizzled with honey. I got a second one it was so good.
This food SLAPS. Go get it!

My wife and I plus another couple were staggering back from a concert in Cambridge when we came upon wades at 1150 on Saturday night. They closed at midnight. They have great service and food. This was three years ago, January 2023. Really hope they open again!

I ran into David Wade, owner of Wade BBQ, today!
I pick up dinner twice a week for the house, and I love to try new things (even if it’s just two of us in the house who appreciate my culinary adventures, haha).
Mr. Wade paused to chat about opening his business five months ago, and I got to share what it was like opening Neighborhoods Cafe with Betsy Hill (and our friend Charlotte, but she was not in country when we opened due to visa issues).
I remember creating the recipes, designing the routines, hiring employees, marketing and getting to see my cake pops make it on the news, after I networked to feature them for Boston Bakes for Breast Cancer!
It’s such a thrilling feeling to see something that you’ve put so much work into become something that other people enjoy.
The food he makes is top notch DELICIOUS!!!
He is also just next to a massive parking lot, which is super helpful, and there are plenty of handicap accessible spots in that lot.
Support Wade!

Great service, I have tons of allergies and staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Pork belly is always my go to, and these are phenomenal. My husband is usually a bbq fan but he is devouring these wet lemon pepper wings. 10/10 coming again!

Placed a small catering order yesterday. Everything was handled professionally and packed well. The food was excellent when heated up according to instructions. I only managed to snap a couple of quick photos before digging in.
