To start. The service is grand. Elisabeth was me and my daughter’s server. She was great. The food tasted as it was cooked with love. I had The King, and my daughter had a brisket burger. It was delicious. The place is clean, including the restroom. They have a bar as well as a room you can rent for a small group of about 25 people. Live bands and tvs to watch sports. I will be coming back for sure. In fact, I have found me a new lunch spot. Lol.

Update:
I went back recently with some coworkers who wanted to give them a try, and I was pleasantly surprised.

I spoke to the manager, who showed me around and explained the challenges that they faced on start-up. He gave me a taste of some of their fresh brisket and it was great.

I have been back twice since, and the food has been great.

Definitely come give them a try and see for yourself.

Changed from 1 star to 4 stars.

The people are very nice. It is going to take a lot more than that to make it in this location.

This is my third try with this place, and I am not impressed. They are way overpriced for the quality and quantity of food they provide. Appears most of the food is cooked offsite and brought in and kept in warmers.

The food was well presented, but that was all. Pork ribs had very little meat and had no flavor. The beans also had no flavor or seasoning. The bread was stale. From previous experience, the brisket was firm and dry, and the chopped beef was overly fatty.

There were no condiments available and limited drinks selection.

For a restaurant that was over 2 years in the making, they really had a bad start.

Nestled in the heart of Sugar Land is more than just a Black Owned BBQ joint; it’s a cultural experience. From the moment you step through the door, you’re enveloped in the warm, soulful ambiance. The walls are adorned with vibrant artwork celebrating African American heritage, and the air is filled with the rhythmic beats of music, setting the perfect backdrop for a memorable dining experience.

The menu is a testament to Southern comfort food at its finest, with mouthwatering BBQ ribs, tender pulled pork, and smoky brisket that practically melts in your mouth. Each dish is crafted with care, honoring traditional recipes passed down through generations, yet infused with the chef’s own innovative twists.

But what truly sets Williams Smokehouse apart is its sense of community. It’s not just a place to eat; it’s a gathering spot for friends, family, and neighbors to come together and celebrate life over a plate of delicious food. The staff welcomes you like old friends, adding to the inviting atmosphere that keeps patrons coming back time and time again.

And let’s not forget about the dessert. The strawberry cheesecake is nothing short of divine. Each bite is a heavenly combination of creamy cheesecake, fresh strawberries, and a buttery graham cracker crust, leaving you craving more with every forkful.

In essence this spot is more than just a restaurant; it’s a cultural institution family so whether you’re a BBQ aficionado or just looking for a place to unwind and enjoy great company, Williams Smokehouse is an experience you won’t soon forget.

Love, love this restaurant! The meat was cooked to absolute perfection and practically melts in your mouth. We had the Brisket, chicken and Turkey and that was the best BBQ I’ve had since coming to texas. Everyone from the servers to the hostess were very attentive and friendly. We met PopaJoe some time ago and had a chance to sit and talk with him and he’s such an amazing person and business owner he even gave us a tour. If you want excellent flavorful BBQ and great service this is the place to go!! We will be regulars from here out! (FYI: the prices are very reasonable)

Vibe- This is a nice spot with plenty of comfy seating inside and seating outside as well. I was very pleased with their vegan menu items 🙂 they have happy hour Tuesday thru Friday from 2-7pm. Also, the music was jamming!!

Customer service- Great!

Food/drinks- I got the vegan “taste like chicken” nuggets, fries, and the Franklin to drink (taste like a lemon drop)

Parking- There’s a garage next to the spot with free parking.

It was really nice I felt comfortable. Wasn’t on top of anybody. Went at Lunchtime, the music was good. I would like to try it out again and maybe for take out as well. One thing, The staff was ok. I believe the wait staff might have been spaced out a little for their tables. ( had to manage too many tables ) overall it was pretty good

The reason this place gets 1 star is because the vibe of the place. There was good music, the interior is nice, and the wait staff is friendly. The food itself is horrible. The brisket was the driest brisket I have ever had. Tough, hard to chew, and no smoke flavor. The pulled pork was unfortunately also dry and the only thing that saved it was the BBQ sauce. The sausage was decent but the flavor was not anything to be wowed by. The potato salad tastes identical to a Costco tub of premade potato salad, they are just cutting corners to rob you. The macaroni pasta was cooked well but the cheese sauce was no more special than boxed mac & cheese. This does not meet any standard for Texas BBQ and was a waste of money. In the picture you can see how dry everything is. They even put a sprinkle of parsley on top as if that would add more sophistication to their terrible plate. I would not recommend to anyone who wants quality meat.

The food was incredible here! So good we went twice in our limited 6 days in Houston! The first time we shared the Kennis platter and it was absolutely delicious! The second time I have the pork ribs with the dirty rice. It was truly incredible. Whenever we return to Houston we will be back here! Also would love to see one open up back home in Sydney

Beautiful establishment! Great food! Great vibes! Great service! B.O.B! Plenty of parking! Excellent location! And Live entertainment weekly makes this a great choice for date nights , events, and dancing! I loooooooved that they have open walls so the natural air and breeze was flowing through the place all night! We will definitely make this one of our go to spots in the Sugarland / First Colony Mall area.

When you open a restaurant in Sugar Land Town Center you have to have excellent management and great food, I met the owners and they did their best with what they had to work with, BBQ was cooked and prepared by migrant workers that was a huge mistake. They had too many employees standing around doing absolutely nothing. I think they should not give up and try again and make sure you hire the right people. As for the BBQ it wasn’t what I expected it needed to be cooked by a BBQ Pitmaster but unfortunately it wasn’t. I recommend they open BBQ franchise at this location and try it again. This restaurant is clean and beautiful.
