Bistro Blue at Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta is the kind of place you remember long after your trip is over. They graciously seated our group of 15 with ease and gave us the most stunning view of the property. The setting was peaceful upscale and perfect for sunset dining.

I tried escargot for the first time here and was blown away. It was buttery garlicky and cooked to perfection. I also ordered a carajillo and it tasted exactly like the ones I have had in Mexico City. Smooth rich and balanced with just the right amount of Licor 43 and espresso.

One of the best parts of the evening was the live piano music playing softly in the background. It added a beautiful and classy touch to the entire experience without being overpowering.

The service was incredible from start to finish. Everyone on staff was attentive warm and professional. You could tell they were proud to be there. The entire vibe of Bistro Blue feels elevated but still welcoming and relaxed.

If you are staying at Vidanta or even just nearby this is a spot you do not want to miss. Amazing for groups romantic dinners or anyone who loves great food with a view. A standout experience during our stay.

We went here twice during our week stay because the food was so good. My friend got the Duck L’orange both times, while I got the catch of the day (Mahi-mahi) and a Beef stew. The wine selection was great and the fresh made bread was delicious. The view is gorgeous. We sat outside and watched beautiful sunsets both evenings. The service was very attentive and accommodating of my friend’s allergies and dietary requirements.

We went to Bistro Bleu for Valentine’s dinner and sadly, it was one of the worst dining experience of our lives. The service was unorganized and unprofessional. Our wine came well after we had received our main course, my wife ordered Bouillabaisse and they didn’t give her a spoon. The Bouillabaisse was 1250 pesos (~$100 CDN) and was nothing but bland broth with a few ounces of shrimp and white fish, no potatoes. I had the scallop risotto and it was 3 small scallops with barely 3 ounces of overly cheesy risotto. I can’t believe that Vidanta considers these restaurants as 4 or 5 stars. We spoke to the manager and she gave the excuse that they had too many reservations, but there were plenty of empty tables.

The view is so beautiful, over looking the ocean with nice sunset. The staffs were attentive. The food, however, is the worst we ever had. It was a shame to call it even food, let alone French cuisine. My chicken tasted like wet newspaper soak in salt. And if you factored in the price, it is ridiculous.

Food is way overpriced for what you get and it’s a hit or miss. The scallops and risotto had no flavor ( no Parmesan and just blah), the lamb rack was good, the beef bourguignon was great but oddly paired with dry spaghetti pasta, salmon was good. French onion soup is a major miss, it like a broth that’s way too salty, I make this at home and you can see the onions are not carmalizes , which is what gives this staple its flavor. Not family friendly , Kids only option is spaghetti noodles with butter. The crape flambé is just a plane crape in orange syrup, that’s it . For all that I listed above and 2 salads our total was 475$ USD for 4 adults and 2 kids with 2glasses of wine. The seafood was cold when it was served really cemented not worth the price.

The wine: they charge $20-30 per glass, for some of the Wines by the glass the entire bottle is 28$ retail. The uncharge on the wine is too high. The wine Samaela wasn’t much help in trying to help find a wine to pair with my scallops, she knew as much as this is Chardonnay and that’s a Sav, but not much on flavor profile.

The atmosphere was nice and great for large parties but the food was not consistent and frankly lacking for the price point.

The service was knowledgeable and satisfied our desires for excellent food and wine values. Well prepared, great presentation and leaves you wanting more.
Violinist was a bonus to a wonderful evening. I would be amiss if I didn’t mention the gorgeous sunset.

Hugo was an outstanding waiter and Xavier put on an amazing table side flambe presentation of Crepe Suzette. Food could not have been better. Live pianist just took this meal to a 5 diamond level!

Meh. Wouldn’t recommend. Pros: Lovely view, nice live piano music (sort of odd song selections tho), decent service. Cons: Food is just ok. Edible but not at all worth the price tag. We went for a wine promo and were told about lots of fine print when we arrived. Spent a lot on food we didn’t want to eat. I ordered the cheese assortment and it was 4 slabs of super stinky, extremely normal cheeses (blue cheese and smoked Gouda). No presentation. The assorted ‘breads’ was literally four hard slices of their table bread.

Go for the view or if you’re just drinking wine, but get tacos on the beach instead!
