I stumbled across this place from a google search. I was in the area & super hungry and wanted something delicious to eat. The food here is amazing & seasoned well. The fried catfish is just right. I had the creole jambalaya as well. I enjoyed it, just wish it was spicier but that’s a personal preference. I can’t wait to visit again to try more items. All of the staff was kind as well & took great care of us.

I’m from Southern Louisiana and I’m always leery of Cajun food outside of Louisiana because most folks don’t season their dishes properly. Unfortunately this was the my experience with Voodoo Gumbo. I happen to be in the area on my way home so I went in for some take out. The shrimp and the crawfish in the étouffée were fine but overall is overly butter flavored with very little seasoning. It wasn’t terrible but not close to something I would find back home. On a side note; I like that they keep the rice separate but the rice was in a cheap clear plastic bag and wasn’t even tied closed. The french bread was the same way. I hope they were out of the normal containers but if not, it’s just being cheap. Splurge for a ziplock or something next time. Lastly the jambalaya was tasty but not worth a second trip. Hopefully they can make some adjustments because there isn’t much competition for decent Cajun food in the area.

This place is awesome. Amazing gumbos and poboys, good selection of beer, and great desserts. The staff was very knowledgable and friendly. I’ll definitely be back

My partner and I came here to try it out since we both love cajun food. This place is DEFINITELY one I would travel all the way from new york to. First off, our server was really sweet and nice. She gave us each a sample of gumbo and etouffé (i cant remember the correct spelling).but either way that was what we both ended up getting a huge bowl of of each! I had chicken and sausage gumbo. We also got the alligator bites to split. This was my first time trying gator, and it is INSANELY good. DEFINITELY GO HERE!! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

Man, I love this place. I’ve been several times and never once have had a bad experience. Service is always good, food is always fresh, and the drinks are pretty tasty. The gator bites are a fave of mine—the sauce they serve with it is fantastic.

My one tiny complaint that I want to add if only so it can potentially be changed—I chose to try out the bread pudding. I love bread pudding but am very sensitive to texture, so imagine my surprise when I dig in and there’s pineapple loaded throughout the dish. I couldn’t eat it. My boyfriend enjoyed it. I thought maybe I missed that detail on the menu, but upon further inspection, there’s no mention of pineapple. I looked it up to see if that’s a usual thing, but alas, I couldn’t find much that suggested pineapple is a common addition. I would’ve opted for beignets had I known there was pineapple in it, lol. I got it to go so wasn’t aware of it until a day later when I went to have it as a treat.

That’s a very small thing and feel it can be easily avoided by menu disclosure, because like I said, every other experience I’ve ever had there has been nothing short of fantastic—can’t say that about many places anymore.

Wow! Attentive staff, delicious and fresh food, & cozy atmosphere. I will happily drive all the way from Clarksville to have the Poboy and Gumbo again.

So went here after calling in my order, it was from their small apps – the catfish and the shrimp. It was close to closing time, but only 3mn from me so I knew we’d have to wait, which was fine. They offered tea and sundaes for my kiddos, which was nice due to us waiting for 20mns. They hand me my order and we leave to make sure it gets eaten while it’s hot. When I tell you I was LIVID after opening the containers to see not even a handful of catfish strips, coleslaw that I didn’t order and a handful of shrimp!

Look, I get that is only $8 for each, but I usually pay about $10 and get the app that’s supposed to come with 5oz. I pulled out my food scale just because I thought maybe I’m crazy BUT WAS NOT. Seriously? Yall have got to do better than this!!

8 VERY small shrimp and 3 SKINNY catfish strips?? Was it because you were closing and perhaps use frozen food and didn’t feel like defrosting more? Sidenote- I’ve never gotten more shrimp (ounces) than fish anywhere, it’s usually the other way around but I could have paid almost $10 instead of $17 for the ADVERTISED 5 OUNCES of seafood and the sides weren’t needed and wrong! But instead, I feel I’ve been cheated and gave the crap end of the stick.

Someone needs to rectify this or my business is gone!

I can’t say enough amazing things about this place. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the staff are always welcoming and ready to exceed expectations. It’s nearly two hours away for us, but over all the eats in the Nashville area, we make a point to stop by any time we are in the Nashville area.

I forgot to take pictures of the food because I eat like a dog and it was just that good. I had the Etouffe and the gator bites – the portions are decent and the food itself is very flavorful! I will definitely be coming back here when I visit Nashville again.
