Iconic Italian Restaurant and Pizza Joint in South Bend. In the 1950’s people on the street would watch pizza dough be tossed in the window at the original location in downtown South Bend. Pizza wasn’t the only thing on the menu, great pasta dishes were offered. Still owned and run by the same family, the hand tossed pizza and baked pasta dishes remain favorites along with other menu options for different palates.
Traditional pizza, pasta, sandwiches & other Italian staples served in a down-to-earth atmosphere.

Loved the interior of this place. I just lost in food. It was supper delicious, and they prepared vegetarian food for me . It was amazing how they explained it. Just food was so much, and I hope I would have been informed that it’s too much for one person to eat. That’s why I gave 4 start. Otherwise, it’s a 5 star service. The best part is they also have the same food, so they make it everything fresh with maintaining hygiene. loved the overall experience of this place. Outdoor seating is also good if weather permits.

Great place for lunch in South Bend. I had the Volcano Club, and it was excellent. Also, the prime rib dip with cheese and the lasagna are good choices. Never had a bad experience there, and food is very reasonable.

Ok, now I’m just really ticked off. About 3 weeks ago we ordered pizza from Volcano. I don’t even care about the price. VOLCANO is our, or was our, favorite. Went in to pick up our pizza and found out it was given away to someone else, so I wait for them to remake it. Huge disappointment! But hey, we’ve always heen happy with our pizza’s [truthfully usually better on Friday night than on Saturday. Must be different cooks]. Today I call to make a reservation to take some out of town family members to dinner. So it d I didn’t even bother me to find out they don’t take reservations on Friday and Saturday night. It was the completely uncalled for rudeness of the man that answered the phone. I think we’re definitely looking for a new pizza place.

Service was slow and it wasn’t busy when I was there. I was very surprised when I asked for a box for my leftovers and was told they cost the owner a lot of money. I was offered a piece of foil to wrap up my leftovers. IF I decide to return. I’ll have to remember to bring my own leftover container. It’s difficult to wrap up spaghetti and meatballs in foil!

I gave them 3 stars because the food was good. We have ordered from them 3 times now and all 3 times our order has been messed up. We always ask for no egg or cheese on the salad and it’s always on there and nothing is harder than trying to pick Shredded cheese off a salad… if we go back we will definitely be checking our to go order before leaving
