Social Profile:

Vivacino is where New England charm meets Italian soul—right in the heart of North Andover. Our name says it all: lively, joyful, and full of flavor. Inspired by the classic Italian table where laughter flows as easily as the wine, Vivacino is the creation of two longtime friends and hospitality vets, Chef Nimesh Maharjan and Richard Bertin. We serve up a seasonal menu packed with bold, scratch-made Italian dishes featuring local ingredients and producers. Behind the bar, you’ll find a spirited cocktail program with flavors borrowed from the kitchen and a playful nod to classics. Our wine list is full of gems—delicious bottles at prices that won’t make you blink—and we’ve got local craft beers to round it all out. At Vivacino, we…

Ironically, I have been very hesitant about visiting Italian places since moving to Boston. Despite having quite a vibrant Italian food scene, especially towards the North End, most of my visits to Italian establishments have proven to be a disappointment. One would feel like Nona’s tired or Nona doesn’t want to feed you or Nona doesn’t want to have anything to do with you. Obviously, that’s not what ANY good Nonas ever do since they want you to have the very best.

So one may ask what’s truly going on? Is it the same issue with other cuisines where the food quality is not properly preserved or because there is no standard to uphold anymore? It reminds me of someone who once said to me that those who care deeply about any cuisine have moved on to NYC and other food-centric areas. All that’s left are those who send out food to customers who either don’t know or don’t care. Perhaps, there is some thinly veiled truth to this statement.

I’ve been acquainted with Chef Nimesh for a few years and know his deep passion for Italian food. In prior locations where he was based, there were always limitations to how much he was allowed to express his art and understanding of the cuisine. So while he was throttled over there, here in Andover after taking over a dying business, I’m able to witness just how good his expression of Italian food is. Every dish I ordered tonight were things I knew he was particularly passionate about. Yes, the whole menu is well designed…but I’m talking about things I knew he would choose to serve in particular until the world ends. Signature dishes on his take of Italian cuisine.

I loved every bite. I truly savored and enjoyed it. So much so that I’m willing to just make the drive up to Andover just for a meal any given day. Mind you, the place is well designed, clean, and upscale. You can thank his business partner, FOH extraordinaire for bringing that side to life. The staff working here are great and the wine selection is immaculate. You will definitely enjoy your visit here.

Absolutely recommend this spot for anyone wanting a great and non-pretentious Italian food experience!

This may have been the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. The homemade pasta was so fresh, it was the best I’ve ever had. Their menu is wonderful, and there are plenty of Italian classics available off the menu that were also amazing. The service was incredible as well! Love the sangria, garlic bread, chicken Marsala, linguine carbonara, and cannoli. The bread and oil served was also really good!

My Husband and I just celebrated our anniversary here last evening (which also happened to be NYE). We had gone here once prior, when it was Bueno Bistro, but this was our first time since it changed ownership to Vivacino. We had a great time!

Our server, Jamie, was outstanding; friendly, attentive, polite, and overall great at his job. The food was very flavorful and just the right portions.

For an appetizer, we had the portabella stuffed mushroom, stuffed with crab and a breadcrumb mixture, which was delicious. We also got an order of garlic bread that was seasoned to perfection and great for dipping!

For our entrees, we had the surf and turf special, which was a lobster risotto, with a 6oz filet (outstanding) and the linguini alfredo with shrimp. Both great meals, hot and freshly prepared.

For drinks, we ordered espresso martinis and strawberry margaritas. Both were made perfectly; and the servers kept up with water throughout the dinner.

We were also given complimentary glasses of champagne at the start of our dinner, which was nice and unexpected. We had a great time and will definitely be returning in the future 🙂

Went with a friend who had signed at Vivacino before. Our server was very attentive and provided some great recommendations. The food was excellent. I really appreciated that many of the dishes weren’t just standard Italian restaurant fare. The Manager stopped by our table and let us know that they serve dishes from “all over the boot” and that the menu changes seasonally.
We had a great time!

Great meal last night at this hidden gem! Wonderful service by Katia and such delicious food. Had the kale salad to start -good portion and very fresh. Salmon was so good with chicken peas and roasted cauliflower and broccoli with pesto. I try and eat low carb and so glad I didn’t have to make any special requests as everything worked for me. Friends had the calamari, petit sirloin and an eggplant dish that they raved about. Too full for dessert but definitely next time as we will be back for sure!

The meals were plated/presented with creativity. Chef Nimesh came over to ensure our food was delicious. We are looking forward to going back & making Vivacino our spot for our date nights!

The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was amazing and comfortable. Many entrees to choose from, and every entree we had was absolutely delicious. All the food came out promptly, and the presentation was excellent. Our server Kevin did an outstanding job and made us feel like family. The prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend the minni cannolis. I’m looking forward to going again.

This is an excellent restaurant. The food is authentic Italian and is fantastic. Outstanding red sauce and the seafood is cooked to perfection. The drink menu is also very good and it has a nice little craft beer selection as well. Overall it has a pleasant, casual vibe and the staff is wonderful–attentive, nice, and helpful.

Vivacino holds a very special place in my heart, not just because of the homemade pasta, uniquely delicious meatballs in a mustard and butter sauce, and a warm welcoming environment with a welcoming owner that greets everyone- something that I feel like is nearly forgotten in today’s day and age; but because my sister went into labor an hour or two after dining here. We recently went back with my new born nephew and the food really just hits different. So grateful that this place exists! The deliciously homemade rigatoni feels rustic, you can tell it’s homemade, making it feel very comforting. Absolutely delicious foods!!
