Service was awesome Thank you Karen and Omar … Monday is a different crowd but you definitely have to go and see and feel it for yourself… weekends are busy … Monday for me the vibe was just right … not too crowned not too busy not too loud … definitely another new favorite on my list !!!

Viva Tequila was an absolute hit for our group. From the moment we walked in, the team made us feel genuinely welcomed, and the service throughout the night was smooth, attentive, and friendly. Every dish and drink we tried was delicious.
The music and line dance instructor were phenomenal–full of energy, personality, and exactly the kind of fun our group loves. They kept the vibe upbeat and had everyone laughing, moving, and enjoying themselves the entire evening.
People were still talking about the night long after we left. Viva Tequila delivered an experience we won’t forget, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

I really wanted to like this place. The building and seating is very nice, but the food just let us down. I have never had bland quesabirria taco’s before, but it happened. Store-bought chips and salsa really don’t help either.
The band plays a nice collection of music my parents might have liked, and I am just over 50. This place is just not our scene.
The box is checked, with so many great options down on water street I do not think we will return unless something major changes.
Please note, service was really good with the exception that I was not offered a re-fill on my soft drink until we were leaving.

My wife and I came again for sat night. Great food, drinks and LIVE music. We had soup, salmon dinner and tacos. More importantly we had Cadillac margaritas. Crowd had fun dancing to the country music. The band is great. See you next time!!

I am used to really good Mexican food. This would not be it. I did takeout, got there really early after my nail appointment. I waited about 15 minutes as they made the food-great it will be hot so when I get home which is just around the corner it will still be warm. It was cold.
On the website when you order your burrito has sour cream, guacamole, cilantro, salsa. My burritos had lots of rice, some beans and cheese – that was it. I asked for it to be smothered, it tasted like no name enchiladas sauce. Same with the chicken burrito-I paid $50 that a frozen burrito would have been better.
Service was great though, they were very kind and considerate.

We threw my daughter a surprise birthday party, and they were so accommodating! We were able to totally revamp the VIP area for our guests, decorations and all. When my daughter walked in and got over the surprise, her drink was already there, thanks to the server!
Hugo, the manager, was a lifesaver and let our big group have separate tickets instead of one big mess. That saved us all a headache!
And seriously, get the guacamole! We asked for the jalapenos on the side, and they were cool with it.

Fun place to eat. Lots of live music and dancing at times. Carne asada tacos were good! Nice thick cuts of meat. Fajitas were good. Chicken seasoned well. Chips and salsa are fantastic.

I wanted to share feedback regarding my recent visit to your restaurant on 11/3/2025 for my father’s 78th birthday. I had heard wonderful things about your establishment and was looking forward to celebrating such a special occasion there.
When I called to make the reservation, the hostess was kind and accommodating. She noted that it was my father’s birthday and made the process very easy. Upon arrival, the restaurant was lively, and the hostess who seated us was warm and even wished my father a happy birthday — which we greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, our overall experience did not meet expectations. After being seated, it took about 15 minutes for our server to greet us, which I completely understood given how busy the restaurant was. I mentioned immediately that we were celebrating my father’s birthday. Throughout the evening, I reminded our server several times about the celebration, and he assured us that the restaurant offered a cake with a candle for birthdays.
However, after finishing our meal and waiting quite a while, the dessert or birthday acknowledgment never arrived. When the server returned, he simply presented the check. At that point, I let it go, paid the bill, and thanked him — but it was disappointing that such a simple, meaningful gesture was overlooked, especially after I had mentioned it multiple times.
As someone who works in the hospitality industry and lives and works locally, I understand how busy nights can be. Still, attention to detail and guest care are what make special occasions memorable, and this experience unfortunately fell short. I will not ever recommend this place and I will tell

We came to Cocina Cantina to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it was our first time dining here. From the moment we walked in, the warm welcome set a great tone for the evening. As we were seated, we were brought chips and salsa—and I always “judge” a Mexican restaurant by its salsa. This one was really good!
My husband ordered the queso dip, and it was absolutely amazing. For our mains, we had the chicken enchiladas and the tacos de carne asada—both were delicious and full of flavor. The menu is simple and on the shorter side. While it’s not a purely traditional Mexican menu (you’ll find things like hamburgers and chicken wings too), the food we tried was excellent.
We’re already looking forward to coming back again!
