Great place to go to enjoy a wonderful meal and live band (Sat night). This was my husband and I first time. We really enjoyed it. Food was amazing! Great taste and huge portions for a good price. The waitresses and staff were super friendly and nice. My husband and I have decided this will be our monthly place to come too for our get away date. (From STL, MO).

Yes, yes, there are trendier Mexican places to be found in the country that are truly 5-star places (Rick Bayless, etc.) but when you’re traveling across the country and stopping for the night in the little town of Edwardsville outside of St Louis, those places aren’t an option. But what is, is a bright spot hidden inside a strip mall, with fun decor, great prices and food abundance (see pic), and service that will still be nice even if you show up 15 min. before closing on a Sunday night. Oh, the sweet cornbread. Make sure they give you that!!

My family was incredibly surprised how good this place is. I had never heard of it until we ate there. This is our new go to for Mexican food here in town, great first experience.

The atmosphere was good, service was good, I was just getting a takeout order, we haven’t tried them before, wanted to check it out, getting it to go was maybe not the best Choice, but the food was still good, a little salty for our taste, but that could just be us, next time we’ll dine in and see how if it’s better. Definitely a place to try if you’re craving Mexican. They also have daily special for food and drinks.

I ordered the Mexican layer dip, with beef, beans, pico and cheese. It was good but I would prefer less beef and more of the other stuff. I had the special dinner just to try everything. It came on two big plates! Surprisingly the items I liked best were the chile relleno and the bean chalupa. The taco, enchilada and tamale were not great.

The food is exquisite but it needs a little more creativity. Today I was at the bar and I saw a guy from the kitchen who spent all the time on the phone, they should check, it’s a bad image. Everything else is excellent, I highly recommend it.

The atmosphere is nice. Our waitress came by multiple times to check on us and refill our drinks. We ordered cheese dip as an appetizer. I had the special dinner which consists of: rice and beans, taco, enchilada, tamale, relleno, and toastada. We will be back next time we’re out that way.

I’ve eaten here twice since the restaurant changed names. The food was good and I enjoyed it enough that I returned a second time. The interior remains the same as the former business (Catrina’s). I enjoyed the Pollo Cancun on my last visit. That’s shrimp, chicken and cheese sauce. The Chimi Cheesecake dessert was great!

They have okay food and their salsa is awesome, but they will cheat you out of any money you have. They are dirty about it, they’ll come out with the thing you ordered x3 and then will charge you for it. Their menus don’t usually say the quantity so make sure to harass your waiter to make sure you aren’t spending $40 on one thing rather then what you actually ordered. Their normal fountain drinks cost 4 dollars and every refill cost the same. That’s fine, but it’s really shady to not put that anywhere or tell me. When I tried to get the situation fixed with the food, they were condescending and made up things in order to keep me paying that insane amount. I wouldn’t recommend this place at all. They’ll scam you.
