Great service and food every time; no matter what your order! The Pavarotti sauce is excellent! The lack of a 5th star is due to the fact that they do not offer gluten free pasta, and sauces aren’t sold separately to take home if you do have dietary restrictions.

I know it’s difficult to stay open when you’re not busy and so I went back a third time and was finally able to get served. I ordered a simple chicken with broccoli and pasta dish and was disappointed to find it swimming in an oil, butter mixture. The garlic served was also over loaded with butter. I guess I prefer my butter to be a little more minimal in my dishes and food. The salad was very simple head lettuce with dressing and nothing to write home about, unfortunately. Again, I would prefer some dark green leafy lettuce. I’ve had much better Italian food elsewhere. The waitress was nice.

Vitale’s is a hometown favorite. The best place for authentic Italian food in Macomb. They have many delicious items on the menu. However, my favorite is their deep dish pizza. It has tons of cheese.. stuffed with your preferred favorite toppings and a delicious tomato sauce to top it off! It is one of the pricier items on the menu, but it is highly worth it. This restaurant is owned by a wonderful Macomb family. The atmosphere is a family-friendly place.

We stumbled upon this family restaurant by accident a year ago while traveling across the US. When we set out to travel this summer all three of our kids requested that we come back through Macomb and go to Vitale’s again, so we did. It was absolutely amazing a year ago when we first went and I dare say it was even better than we remembered this year when we stopped in!! This is an absolute “must stop” for our annual Summer RV across the US Trip!!

If you are a Macomb local, you know how wonderful Vitale’s is. If not, you are missing out on a local gem. If you are new to town, you need to go and experience their amazing food!

I need to preface this by saying that the food was really good. We had to wait almost three hours to get it, though. We are a larger than average family (5) and came in a little after six on a Saturday. There were a lot of people, but the restaurant was not packed. We could see empty tables, but they still kept us waiting. Finally we go seated and they took our drink orders while we looked over the menu. They only gave us four copies of the menu, so we played musical menus while we waited. It took almost 20 minutes to bring our five glasses of water. Very small glasses. The stayed empty most of the night, because we only saw our waitress when she brought our salads, our food, and our check. When we did see her, she was very friendly. She just wasn’t there much. When we ordered our food, we found out they were out of lasagna. The lasagna that they made a big deal of on the menu and the white board as you walk in. So, my son ordered something else. When she brough our salads, we were informed they were out of tomatoes. So our “salads” were a bowl of lettuce with a few chopped cucumbers. Then came the very long wait for our food. With empty glasses. When we finally got our food, the waitress told one of our sons that since the tomatoes were missing from his pizza, he’d get a 10% discount. We did get that. but still our ticket (with a small tip because I can’t in good conscience leave no tip even with bad service) it was almost $100.00. If the service had been better, I would think that was worth it. But as-is it was not

I’ve been going to vitale’s for many years. It has an old school vibe but the food is great. Owners family has always been friendly and hospitable. My parents love the lasagna and I usually get Mostaccioli Aglio e Olio con Broccoli. I see a lot of pizzas go out but I don’t think I’ve ever gotten 1. My daughter loves the spaghetti and meatballs.

We ordered a thin crust and a stuffed pizza. Both were good. The stuffed was a bit too cheesy for my liking. It over powered the bacon. Personal preference.

Our server was shy, but friendly and attentive.

Horrible, Poor quality food. Minimal lettuce in the dinner salad. Pizza was cold. Barely any meat on the supreme pizza. Green peppers thrown on top not cooked. Cheese was cold. Soggy crust. Don’t bother visiting. See photo. Waiter was less than happy. Zero stars
