Second time here and still the greatest place to have breakfast. Ordered Steak and eggs plate: the steak is delicious and melts in your mouth. Tried the Blueberry waffle, Apple waffle, caramel and pecans waffle, very delicious all 3. I think its the Cowboy playe, fried chicken stake and the Biscuits & Gravy OMG!! That’s what gets me… 100% recommend. Staff is on top of everything and everyone has a great attitude.

SHORT VERSION:
Tasty. Good service. Pricey.

LONG VERSION:
I was in search of a strawberry waffle combo when my search turned up Visalia Waffles. If it’s named for the food I want, it must be good, right?

The diner is a storefront in a strip mall, but set back away from the bigger stores, so parking was easy and plentiful.

I was greeted as I entered and offered my choice of seating. I found a chair at a table and it was comfortable. My drink order was taken immediately and my water came quickly. It was in a very large cup, which is my preference. I didn’t need a refill!

The menu was a bit of a challenge. They have a lot of very specific entries and not a lot of obvious separate choices. The strawberry waffle was easy to find, but at first it didn’t appear there was a combo option. I eventually found it hiding in the description of the blueberry waffle (photo). This was what I came for, so this is what I ordered, though I almost went another way. There was no ala carte menu to order eggs or bacon separately. If there had been, I might not have kept looking until I found the combo line.

My order was taken and delivered in a timely manner. The waffle looked good, though it was short on strawberries and heavy on glaze. The scrambled eggs and two strips of bacon were done properly, but looked a little left out on the side plate.

The waffle itself was very good. As the namesake dish, I expected no less! I was very happy with the waffle. The strawberry glaze was no more than typical store-bought with the equivalent of about 3/4 of a strawberry sliced into it, probably at the plant it was packed at. They were limp, chewy little strawberry fragments which added nothing to the meal. And im not a fan of the strawberry-candy flavor of glazes, so the topping really took away from the very good waffle beneath it.

Eggs and bacon were done right and were a nice compliment to the meal.

Not quite all I’d hoped, but I’ll probably come try a different breakfast someday.

One big negative to me was the price. The strawberry waffle was $14 and adding two eggs and 2 strips of bacon was another $8. That’s a lot for a small breakfast combo. Add tax and tip on there and it’s almost $30 for breakfast for one. Ouch. For that price, I expect lots of fresh strawberries and none of the false-flavored glaze.

THE BOTTOM LINE:
Good enough that I’ll try again sometime (ordering something different), but the friendly service and nice atmosphere aren’t enough to make me happy that I had to pay so much for what I got.

Went here on a Saturday morning. The place wasn’t too busy, but got busier as the morning progressed.

I was joined by a party of 7. The menu is pretty extensive for breakfast and a good choice of pancakes and waffles to eat. I ordered a Linguisa Skillet with half a waffle of banana, pecan and caramel with a coffee on the side. The plate was pretty good size and tasty. However, the vegetables could’ve been cooked a little longer since the bell peppers were a tad hard still. The waffle itself is a good size. I didn’t get much flavoring off the waffle itself (comparing it to the Waffle House. my gold standard), but the toppings were a nice add it to.

Overall, a pretty good place, but it left somewhat something to be desired for. My friend ordered a blueberry pancake and the pancakes were huge, so you may wanna share that with someone. I’d still come back and try other items off the menu.

The food was cold, they got our order wrong and they drastically raised their prices. And if that was not bad enough, they removed some meals so you have to order add-ons at an additional price just to get more than just pancakes. We will NEVER go back.
