We stopped new years eve and was pleasantly surprised that we could have lunch in a ghost town. The food was fabulous and the service was grade a. Highly recommend stopping in for fried pickles.

Arrived to have breakfast with family. I had been here before for lunch. Upon arrival the waitress seemed perturbed we were there. Very short in words, handed us menus and walked off. Came back to get our drink orders. There was 1 other customer inside, so wasn’t busy. The music of Queen was playing in the background, which I get music is good, but 900 in the morning in a cafe?
Took our order and food arrived fairly quick. Never came back and checked on us. As we finished our meal, asked if we wanted refills, so a bit late. When coming to our table the last time, attitude improved a little.
I get it everyone has bad days, but to push it out on your customers, well, that makes for bad tips and reviews… She put the bill on the table and said the other gal at counter will take our payment and walked off quickly…
The food was excellent and will come back! Hopefully better day and a lot less attitude.

A welcome meal after a long day! Everyone in my party had burgers and they did like them. I had a cheese steak sandwich with side salad. Salad was better than the usual sides. the sandwich was good, but not quite 5 stars. Patio was lovely, even on a hot day. Beers for the boys from the bar next door were permitted at the table.

Since the Virginia City Cafe is the only open restaurant in Virginia City in mid-September, it is correspondingly crowded. We barely managed to get the last table and were expecting a long wait. But that wasn’t the case, the service and the kitchen were quick and attentive despite the crowds. The food is good and inexpensive, overall we were very satisfied.
