My sister brought me here for my last day of my visit, and she kept raving about the popovers. She was right, they were an excellent bread course – crispy exterior with an airy, buttery interior.
She also insisted we get the pepita and sesame crusted Brie – I liked it better with the popover rather than the garlic crostini.
We both selected fish courses: she got the Macadamia & Coconut Crusted Sea Bass, and I chose the Everything Crusted Ahi Tuna. There was so much going on the plates, but all the elements balanced each other out perfectly. Portions were huge, so we only ate half in order to be able to try the Ube Cheesecake.
The cheesecake was also huge and unlike any other Ube Cheesecake I’ve tried! Those little mounds of ube halaya on top are genius, I’ll be doing the same when I make them at home.
We chose to sit inside, and I requested a table next to the window, which overlooks a beautiful fountain below. In the warmer months, I’d choose to sit outdoors, that space looked so cozy and inviting.
Our server was awesome, he let us know that if we signed up for their loyalty program, we would get 10% off our first bill. The restaurant is part of a larger restaurant group with locations around the country, including Hawaii.
We sat at table 48 and it was perfect for us since our toddler could get a little grumpy in a restaurant, we didn’t want to bother other customers. The food was amazing, the portions were bigger than we expected so we ended up packing a lot of food home. And our server Nick (or Nicolas) was very very nice! The manager Robert was very nice too.
It was our first time visiting Vintana and we are pretty sure we will visit again in the future 🙂
Ps: we thought we might get a small tiny treat since we noted “birthday celebration” when we made a reservation, but we didn’t get anything but it’s okay, we still had a good time. Thank you!
The Food
The Standout: The Black Mussels were the highlight. Plump and fresh, served in a flavorful coconut curry sauce (slightly spicy and salty) with grilled toast points.
Korean Chicken Wings: Hot, crispy skin with tender meat, coated in a sticky sweet/spicy glaze.
Chicken Gyoza: Nicely steamed with soft wrappers. Uniquely presented on a bed of cold noodles with a black sesame/herb crust and fresh veggies.
️ Shishito Peppers: A mix of slightly spicy and sweet flavors, served with a healthy portion of crisp pork belly chunks.
Bacon Burger: The half-pound patty and hearty bacon slices were impressive, and the herb-crusted fries were flavorful. The bun was slightly drier than preferred, which held the dish back slightly.
Value & Service
Happy Hour: Held Tuesday through Sunday in the afternoon. The $10 dishes provide excellent value for the quality of food.
⭐ Service: Special thanks to Izzy (bartender/server) for the excellent wine recommendations and for looking out for the kids!
Overall
A polished spot for modern fusion with an great Happy Hour and a family-friendly (yet stylish) atmosphere.
Justin was very attentive and suggested the short ribs which were elegant and exquisite,
We tried a couple of the salads, the Caesar salad and The farmers market greens and both were delicious. We will definitely be coming back for some more of the farmer market greens.
This was definitely an unforgettable experience.
