Stylish American steakhouse at the Inn at Bay Harbor with Michigan wines & microbrews, plus a patio.

I love going to fancy expensive restaurants but this one was ridiculous in terms of the price paid and service and quality received. Food was mediocre and overpriced. $75 for a filet mignon which tasted like nothing was ridiculous. Crab cakes we ordered have long thick dark hair in it, same is my son’s beef tenderloin pepperdele as you can see in the pictures. We did not even get bread as others did. Starters came with no plates to share. Mashed sweet potatoes came with no spoons. Just ridiculous. The only good thing about this restaurant was the view.

Loved this place. Food, service, views… All were amazing. We had walleye and mushroom bisque for lunch then shared a charcuterie and scallops for dinner. Shining star for me was the slaw… incredible. My one disappointment was drink quality. I tried an Old Fashioned and a Gin and Tonic. Neither was memorable in a good way. The G&T was passable, the Old Fashioned I did not finish. While I did not bring the issue up with our host I am positive if I had they would have remidied the situation. Again, wonderful place and I would gladly visit again.

While staying here we thought we would spend our last night having dinner at the steakhouse onsite. We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation and were sat at a small table for two in the middle of the restaurant, where we were told the shade was already down and there was nothing they could do for the sun in our eyes. It seemed like it was an inconvenience for the host that we had arrived a bit early. The seating inside is quite small so we settled in for a nice dinner, trying to enjoy it regardless. Our crab cake appetizer was good and both of them were pretty large. Our meals arrived and both were also good, although the bernaisé sauce was not. Our biggest issue arrived when we asked for dessert menus after having been there for an hour and 10 minutes. Our waiter then informed us that we had to be out of there by 7:30 for the next reservation. We had just basically been told we weren’t welcome to stay for dessert. Wow. We ended up having to enjoy our dessert from a cardboard carry out container. This was definitely not the ending we expected to a $300+ dinner. Next time we come to stay here we will skip the Chophouse and head back over to Nomad where the service and cordiality was amazing!

Beautiful waterfront location with plenty of outdoor seating. We reserved a table for sunset, and the setting could not have been more perfect. Service was attentive without being rushed, and the food was excellent—the burger I ordered was probably the best I’ve ever had. Pricing is a bit high, but you’re paying for the views, and the food is truly delicious. Highly recommend for both the atmosphere and the meal!

We booked a New Year’s Eve dinner advertised as a “cozy evening alongside a crackling fireplace.” Instead, we were seated outside of the main restaurant in a separate room that felt like a last-minute setup, directly next to a large group of children attending what appeared to be a birthday party and photo shoot.
The children were running around the space and blasting music from their tablets at full volume throughout the evening, screaming at the top of their lungs, while a mom joined in on the screaming to advise them all how tobpose for an impromptu photo shoot that went on for 15 mins, making conversation impossible. Despite this, management made no effort to intervene, relocate guests, quiet the group, assist staff, or acknowledge the disruption in any way. The manager was visible in the area but offered no support or apology, which was especially disappointing given the premium pricing and expectations for New Year’s Eve.
Our server did his best but was clearly working alone. For the price charged, the lack of management involvement and oversight was unacceptable.
The food was slightly above average. The Caesar salad was served without dressing, and while the filet was cooked properly, both it and the potatoes were dry due to the absence of any sauce or jus. I was not offered a wine refill, and the tablet-only drink menu disappearing after ordering made it difficult to review additional options.
Overall, the experience fell far short of what was advertised and did not come close to justifying the cost for a New Year’s Eve dinner.

Vintage Chophouse is inside the Inn at Bay Harbor. We didn’t stay at the hotel, just found them on Google and decided to give it a shot. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is very small but doesn’t feel cramped. Breathtaking view of the lake, and in summer, the view from the outside patio would be stunning. We had tomato soup as a starter. It had balsamic and olive oil in it, which was something new for us and quite cozy and inviting, especially with the asiago sourdough bread. I had the tenderloin pappardelle, and my husband had the seafood pappardelle. Both were absolutely delicious. We couldn’t decide between the brown betty apple and the flourless torte for dessert, so naturally, we got both. I was blown away by the torte, so smooth and rich. The bourbon caramel apple dish was amazing and just the right dessert for a blustery fall day. Andrew, our server, was personable and attentive. It was a fantastic experience. We will be back.

Great views and wonderful food. Took me a bit to write the review, but I still remember it like it was yesterday. The staff was attentive to all of our needs. The food was so good that it was hard to stop eating. Will definitely return.

Great dining experience along with an amazing sunset view! Food was exceptional. Highly recommend the Wild Mushroom Flatbread appetizer. Wild Mushroom Bisque was fantastic. Filet was perfect with the Mushroom Ragout and Demi-Glaze. Entire Staff was attentive and pleasant. Our server, Andrew, did a great job!

We came during the week and the car was packed but we pretty much had the place to ourselves. I am a Brussel Sprouts girl, whenever it’s on the menu I order it and this one was too soggy. The glaze was watering down my Brussel sprouts. Not the best but had potential- I got the braised short ribs and left none to spare; well cooked and full of flavor.
My 3 year old got tenders and fries for families who need to bring their kids.
Husband got the burger and everyone told him to get it. Someone randomly, the front desk, the valet and so the hype was high- it was just okay.
Overall we enjoyed our time but everything was just okay. My Braised short Ribs were the absolute best!
Oh and let me add I debated on the Lamb Pops but wanted more than 3 so I choose the Braised short Ribs instead.

Beautiful location, fantastic views a little dated in the restaurant. Food was fresh and OK. Service was very good pasta was homemade, which was the best of the meal, although the steak was not cooked properly nor was the seafood.
