Wow! Definitely a gem! Absolutely wonderful wine, and the cheeseboard was fantastic. The service was outstanding. Made me really enjoy it and try some new things! Kaitlyn was wonderful and listened to what I like and was able to give me the most fantastic recommendations. My flight was canceled so I was there for a few hours and it was a great experience.

I’ve been a patron at Vino Volo at DTW for about a year now and it is a must-stop for me whenever I’m in Detroit (which is often as I travel for work 75% of the time). The food is good; I usually get a flatbread or cheese board.
The wine is excellent and the employees will help you find the perfect one for your mood each time you visit. They’re very knowledgeable and happy to make your visit exactly as you’d like it. The cocktails are also fantastic! I’m partial to their espresso martini (with real espresso when you need that pick-me-up) and old fashioned. They also have a nice selection of beers from Michigan breweries.
The service is the real reason why I always stop at Vino Volo when I’m in DTW. They do everything they can do make my experience there the highlight of my day. Beonka and Katlyn are a dream, so kind, and always happy to chat with me when I need it (and time allows). They make a mean cocktail, too! Brian has a vast knowledge of wine and always brings a smile to my face with his descriptions of each. Alan, Aren, and Tony are always on top of service around the large bar and seating area, and quick with a good joke! Chris has been described as “a Romeo with a voice of an angel” and I think his dance moves are unparalleled; he truly heightens the atmosphere and improves everyone’s day with his infectious laugh. The best thing of all is how well everyone works together and the feeling I leave with each time I visit. They make it hard for me to leave as I always enjoy myself so much!

Had my first experience traveling through the Detroit Airport and discovered the best place to grab a bite – Vino Volo!!. Made a point to stop back in on my return flight and Blanca not only recognized me, but remembered my name. So nice when traveling alone. The whole service staff is attentive and helpful. And then there’s the food! All freshly prepared and so much better for you than most of the other heavy greasy options. On the way in, I had the cheese plate, on the way back, Brie and Prosciutto sandwich with side salad. Both were outstanding. The wine selection was not only good, but they had several flights which was a fun option. The vibe is fun and friendly – good music and solo travelers feel welcome. And as always, it the little things that really top it off, plenty of outlets to grab a charge and the staff offering to fill up water bottles. I only wish this place was in my neighborhood – I’d be a frequent customer.

Staff was friendly and kind. Four stars for the atmosphere because well, it’s in an airport. But they serve Westside coffee which is FAR superior to the Starbucks slop that’s everywhere else in DTW. Honestly this is a little gem that you should definitely check out!

The staff here worked together as a cohesive team. They were friendly and efficient even when they were really crowded! The pesto goat cheese flatbread was a great suggestion from the team! Will definitely return when in DTW!
