I absolutely love coming here for yum cha!! I don’t go anywhere else! We always end up ordering so much food, getting ridiculously full and it’s usually only around $35 a head, which is amazing value. We always take home leftovers (you need to pay for takeaway containers). The prices are so good and everything is always fresh and delicious. It does get busy, so definitely arrive early so you don’t need to wait in the queue for long. Can’t fault this place, love it every time! Get a sugar cane juice from Thu Phung N Sugar Cane Juice Bar afterwards and you’re in heaven!

Second time I am here in this Yum Cha, food quality can not compare with The 8 in the CBD, but the Tara deep fried dumplings & chicken feet & deep fried sesame balls( not showing on my picture) was so good! Even the chilli sauce on the side was very traditional ( with garlic) very glad I give it a second chance. Will come back again. Please keep up your good work, guys

There was no queue at 9am on a weekday but seats started filling up fast. Century egg congee and Rice roll with youtiao and prawn were the highlight! Everything else was delicious as well. Reasonable price for Large at $8, and special at $10. Staff are all friendly as well.

I have been a fan of Vin Phat’s yum cha but was let down this week. There was very limited selection and the staff pushing the cart was very slow in coming to our table.
We loved the scallop shu mai and ended up eating 3 baskets of them due to the limited options.

Paid for fried squid, received 90% batter, 10% squid.

Food quality is not great, prawn portions are small with filler.

Service is bad.

45 minute time limit for tables – how can anyone say this place is quality?

This place is overrated and the reviews are starting to show.

Vinh Phat is a great place to enjoy an authentic and affordable yumcha with family or friends, with most portions costing around $7-$10 each. A local institution of Cabra, the venue is always busy during the weekends, attracting long queues extending all the way around to the end of the block (they do enforce a 45 minute time limit for diners for this reason), so I’ll recommend getting there as early as possible.

Vinh Phat Dim Sum in Cabramatta is a well-loved spot that delivers a truly authentic dim sum experience. The restaurant is run by Vietnamese-Cantonese people, and you can taste that cultural blend in the food — many of the dishes capture the exact flavors you’d expect from dim sum in Hong Kong. It’s not often you find that level of authenticity outside of Asia.

The staff here are multilingual, quick, and friendly, which makes the dining experience smooth and welcoming. If you’re lucky enough to come during non-peak hours, you’ll usually get a table right away. However, if you visit during peak hours, be prepared for a long queue — this place is very popular, and for good reason.

In terms of quality, the food is solid and enjoyable, though I’d place it as a middle-class dim sum equivalent to what you’d find in Hong Kong. It’s tasty and satisfying, but not aiming for ultra high-end refinement. Still, it’s a reliable choice when you’re craving dim sum, and the combination of authentic flavors, efficient service, and a bustling atmosphere makes it worth a visit.

We have dined here for the past 20 years, ever since their old location, but this time it didn’t quite hit the mark.

We ordered our usual go to dishes which included the abalone hotpot, salted fish and egg fried rice, seafood spring rolls amongst other dishes.

The abalone hotpot was mostly filled with shiitake mushrooms instead of sea cucumber and abalone, and was not as generous of a portion as it used to be. The chicken and mushroom hotpot had good flavour, but the chicken pieces were small and bony. The fried rice, seafood spring rolls were good however.

We were surprised how empty the restaurant was, it used to be must more lively and busy here. Although some dishes were good, others were quite disappointing, especially considering the increase in cost.

We hope management takes this feedback into consideration, and improves. We really do miss the fantastic dinner meals we used to have here.
