Childhood staple for me! They have a great dim sum but don’t sleep on lunch and dinner too. Fresh lobster, dungeness crab, soft shell crab, roast duck…etc.

My family and I have been eating here for over 20 years, ever since this restaurant was still in Eden Center! Our favorite Chinese restaurant always. The service is kind, we love seeing our favorite waitresses and we come so often they remember our family and our favorite orders. The scallop dumplings, barbecue pork rice crepes, and steamed tripe are our dim sum favorites. We love both the dry beef chow fun and beef chow fun with gravy, they’re our family’s staple, no other Chinese restaurant makes it the way we like it except Vinh Kee- perfect rice noodles, good quality beef and vegetables never overcooked, you can taste the char of the wok, and the sauce is not too salty. The Kung Pao chicken is also the best we’ve had across all Chinese restaurants, the flavor is perfect, perfectly tender, charred, and well spiced. The steamed house chicken is always tender and delicious. The roast pig crispy pork belly is so succulent and not too greasy. The seafood casserole is always well made and comforting. My personal favorite, the steak with black pepper sauce, is so tender and flavorful and comes out sizzling. We will always come here, we have so many memories- mothers day, fathers day, birthdays, new year, graduation, or just craving Chinese food…so much nostalgia with this restaurant since I was little, and it will always be my favorite Chinese comfort food spot. I’m so sad to see the mixed reviews. I’ve been to some of the “best” Chinese restaurants all over the country and other countries, and nothing replaces Vinh Kee in my heart!! I pray this restaurant always stays open because I want to eat here for years to come and bring my own family here one day!!

My wife and I visiting relatives in DC area, found this restaurant for lunch. Very unique to this family from Florida! Because the menu was so much fun, we ordered way too much food. They had giant oysters, biggest I have ever seen. I tried steamed chicken feet and steamed beef tendon, really great flavors and texture. We ordered some shrimp and vegetables wrapped in rice paste, also steamed, never seen anything like it and very good. We had selections of steamed pork buns, cuttlefish with pickled vegetables, it goes on and on. The servers were super nice and helpful. The restaurant is very basic, but busy even at lunch. A super experience.

Their food is really hit or miss. I was impressed with their stir fry dishes like their chow fun and gai lan – both had excellent wok hay and was cooked to perfection and served hot. However, their dim sum dishes were quite disappointing – they claimed that their egg tarts were “baked fresh from the oven” but when I bit into it, the custard was stone cold and the pastry itself was very doughy. A lot of the other typical dim sum pastries were also doughy and were not fresh.

Service was quite slow and they weren’t super busy when we went in on a Sunday. We were there for almost 1.5 hours and had to constantly ask the waiter when our food was coming out. They also had a miscommunication where they forgot to bring out something and we had to remind the staff that we ordered it and then they brought out the wrong item.

Overall pretty mid experience, would order some of the specific dishes again but most of them were unfortunately a miss for me.

I ordered takeout from this place and was shocked by the quality. The chicken was severely undercooked — the bones were still red with visible blood. It’s clear that no one even bothered to check before packing it up and sending it out.

This is a serious food safety violation. Eating raw chicken can cause dangerous foodborne illnesses. Very careless and unacceptable.

We come here all the time, we had to wait longer than normal to get our food, but that’s OK.
Their dim sum is always on point.
The room could be updated, I don’t personally care for the mirrored wall. But I didn’t come for the wall, I came for the amazing food.
The shrimp crepes are always my favorite.

This is a good alternative to HK pearl or Mark’s Duck house for dim sum.

Less crowded but still have large enough space for big party. They cook the dim sum as ordered so they come out hot and fresh. Quality of food were great.

Services were great. Fast and attentive. Parking not an issue even when competing with neighbor.

This is just my review for dim sum. Not dinner.

Let me get this off my chest first: they charge you automatically 18% tip without letting you know ahead of time – and the service was not good at all.
We were not happy with the poor service, stale food, and gross atmosphere. They sat us down and pretty much forgot about us. The folks who came behind us had better service and were served first. Everyone else had tea served and had utensils. They didn’t serve us tea and they took our drink orders three times. We had to ask for utensils. They gave us three napkins for a party of four, so we had to ask for more. The dim sum food was stale and not fresh at all. Seems like they just reheated everything item. We had to ask for soy sauce and chili oil. The duck noodle was nice though. Tables were not very clean and the bathroom was horrible. The price is way too much for what you get.

I wouldn’t be able to name all the dim sum dishes we got but everything tasted exceptional with the exception of the avocado/shrimp egg rolls. Much better than Mark’s Duck House.

Tonight for our 5 year anniversary my Asian wife wanted some authentic Asian food. We heard good things about this restaurant. We ordered for starters we ordered Crab meat asparagus soup. It was very good. We shared it and finished all of it. The next thing we ordered was the fried lobster. It was very good. I only had a bite because its too high in cholesterol for me. Also we ordered the squid with sea salt. All was very good. So we have no complaints but only good things to say.
