Really love their bread though pretty pricey. Wish they had more pastries. The cinnamon rolls are good but surprisingly no icing. Brownies extremely sweet. We visit a couple times a year when in Gainesville.

I usually don’t do too many reviews, but I must say Vine Sourdough Bakery is the best. I only do 100 percent whole wheat bread. So, I wanted 100 percent whole wheat sourdough bread. I could not find it anywhere in Ocala where I live.I searched the Internet for about a month and found Vine. I sent an email, they said yes they have 100 percent whole wheat sourdough bread. I went about two weeks ago & purchased 3 loaves. The best sourdough bread I ever taste. But, I got a coffee with oat milk & honey & a cinnamon roll. I know I wasn’t supposed to have the cinnamon roll, but it looked delicious. I sat in my car & ate the cinnamon roll & drank my coffee. Baby, when I tell you that was the best cinnamon roll I ever tasted, you better believe me. The coffee was so good , just a smooth different taste than other coffee I drank. I went back inside & purchased two more cinnamon rolls, one for me & one for hubby for the next day. Thank you Vine Sourdough Bakery.

There was an awesome sandwich they had on the menu with Brie and cranberry or soemthing it Was like $7…. But now it’s off the menu it was delicious!
In alternative I got the guava pastry and it wasn’t that good. The sparkling grapefruit juice was gross. My sandwich was also not actually really toasted it was so weird.
There’s an older gentleman who makes the pasta and he’s super kind though!
The overall atmosphere of the place is off.
Mostly I don’t understand the weird “end prison slavery” sign … but please do educate me on that.

Never been to the brick and mortar shop before as I usually get something from one of the farmers markets. Came in on a Tuesday morning for a quick breakfast of a ham and cheese croissant and an iced coffee. The pastry was delicious and butter. What really impressed me was the fact they used frozen coffee as ice cubes so your cold brew doesn’t get watered down! What a nice touch!

Vine Sourdough Bakery is a foundational piece of community eats here in Gainesville, FL. Their hot lunch menu is delicious, they have great pastries and coffee for the morning, and a fantastic selection of breads that you can take home for your own enjoyment. The experience is exponentially better because of the personable and friendly staff that provide excellent service as soon as you walk in the door. This is my Saturday morning go-to.

First time visiting this local bakery. I was originally looking for a homemade pie store and when that turned up results that were too far from Gville, I settled for baked goods. I was actually searching for office party snacks and ended up here from all the good reviews.
Theresa, co-owner of Vine, was behind the counter on this very rainy Thursday afternoon. She was very accommodating and friendly. Her husband was busy baking in the back area.
The baked treats looked great and were slightly low in supply already despite the gloomy weather. About 3 people were sitting and eating in the small café area, and there was 1 customer who was in the store waiting for us to finish.
My husband and I spent about $70, including tip for: 3 large cinnamon rolls, 5 large brownies, 1 very large cranberry scone, 3 chocolate croissants, and 3 cinnamon chocolate chip bread pudding slices. Top quality was well-worth the price.
My co-workers really enjoyed the cinnamon rolls and brownies. The chocolate croissants were also gone pretty quickly. I personally liked the bread pudding and the brownies since both weren’t too sweet nor too bland and went well with a cup of hot tea. My husband’s favorite was the cinnamon roll, which appears to be a best-selling item here.
Even if it’s around the newer section of Gainesville, this bakery / eatery has the nostalgic energy of a French-style vinyard café (the store name makes a lot of sense as they also sell wine here), especially with the gray stone section walls outside the bakery. The outdoor patio area was soaked since it was raining all day, and the metal on some of the furniture was oxidizing, but don’t let that rustic exterior turn you away – the baked goods are amazing. We’ll be back!

Stopped in during the local library’s book sale for a sandwich. The tempeh rubin was perfect. Warm, crisp, with good flavor & tart krout. Was really happy with my meal & experience. Cold brew is good too!

Thebread baker is a star. Excellent sourdough. Unfortunately to say your pastry chef is not so good. I have never had a bad croissant in my life until today. A croissant is supposed to be flaky. The croissant that I had today from your place was soggy and oily. I suspect that soeone does not know about using cold butter not a butter/oil mix. It was drenched in oil. I also had a scone that was at best mediocre……I threw it out after 3 bites. It wasn’t awful like the croissant just not good. I drove from Dunnellon for the sour dough and it was worth it.
