We both ordered the weekend brunch special, breaded chicken breast over a homemade Belgian waffle with sausage gravy, chili honey, maple syrup, bacon, and breakfast potatoes. The waffle tasted genuinely homemade, light and crisp, and the combination of sweet and savory with the chili honey and maple syrup was so good. The chicken was perfectly breaded and cooked just right.
We also shared the fried cheese curds with blue cheese, which were hot, crispy, and seriously addictive.
What made the experience even better was meeting the head chef and owner, Anna. She was incredibly sweet and went above and beyond by bringing out her homemade berry compote, and it paired amazingly with both the waffles and the cheese curds.
The portion on the main entrees were big but we highly suggest to not skip dessert. Save room if you can! We shared the award winning peanut butter pie, and wow, silky, decadent, and absolutely deserving of the accolades.
If you are in in the area, put Vine River Bistro & Baker on your list. Great food, welcoming service, and a really special local gem.
They offer a humble yet thoughtful selection of food and drinks, with a menu that changes for holidays and even with the seasons. No matter what you order, it’s delicious—made with care and superb ingredients.
I was saddened when the previous owners closed their doors, knowing that many people never got the chance to experience this kind of food and atmosphere. But the reopening of this space as a new, yet familiar, gem of a bistro has not only honored what came before—it’s elevated it. The quality is even better, and the atmosphere is just as warm and welcoming.
So, for anyone looking for inspiration to try something new or to give their taste buds something to look forward to, I can’t recommend Vine Rover Bistro enough. They can get busy, and tables may be scarce, but from the first bite to the last, it’s absolutely worth it.
I hope those who missed out before take this second chance to enjoy a truly wonderful dining experience
I definitely plan on coming back, and I’m excited to recommend this spot to family and friends. A new favorite for sure!
Our most recent experience, dinner time on a Thursday evening, the place was busy, only a large table and bar seating was open, after we took the booth closest to the kitchen. The waitress greeted us as we walked in, and took our drink order within moments. She was incresibly friendly. Our food order was placed roughly 10 minutes afterwards, which was perfect for us to decide, and see the other dishes being delivered. As we sat waiting on our food order, the chef came from the kitchen, and offered my wife and I some fried pickles, as a gesture for the wait (we hadn’t been waiting for long.)
My wife order the soup of the day, cauliflower, broccoli, and cheddar. I ordered the BLT and fries. And, we split an order of the bruschetta.
The soup was creamy, hearty and clearly made from scratch.
The BLT, toasted to perfection, with plenty of thick cut bacon, fresh lettuce and tomatoes.
The fries were crisp and seasoned perfectly.
The bruschetta was crisp, the fresh mozzerella melting in the mouth, with fresh basil and vinegarette.
The fried pickles werw perfect, hot and fresh. With a breading that wasn’t falling off.
Overall the experience gets better and better each time be go.
The house made cheesecake is a must!
Will definitely be coming back.
