Unfortunately the rest of our meal was not good at all. The steak was so over cooked it tasted like beef jerky and for a steakhouse I would Have expected it to be amazing. The Caesar salad tasted like soap and we were not able to eat it. We ordered the Brussels sprouts which were good as well as the twice baked potato.
All in all for a $300 meal we were extremely disappointed and would not be going back.
It’s a very nice looking restaurant and maybe they were just having an off night but this is the first time my husband and I have ever went to this expensive of a restaurant so we were really let down.
The hollandaise was OK, but far too lemon-forward; it would benefit significantly from a dash of cayenne, or at least Tabasco or even white pepper. Waiter provided excellent service but the bartender was exceptionally slow when we were at the bar prior to being seated.
Twice baked potato was good, the mashed were good, baked was good, and the asparagus was good.
Prices were on the high side of fair. If I come back, I’d skip all the accompaniments and bisque, and just get a steak and potato.
Our experience started with a phone call and the Bartender Issac.
He was polite and informative-
The General Manager was an outstanding gentleman with our dinner reservations and our server was excellent- a full explanation and of the menu and helpful suggestions…
And the food and atmosphere- Amazing
Thank you for a great memorable evening.
Upon returning home I had a photo made up of one I have on my wall at home with Vince posing with my aunt and two uncles, along with Paul Hornung. I mailed it certified to the restaurant days after our return. I have never heard back despite following up with an email. I did this for both my aunt as well as my uncles, and Vince. I felt it would be an honor to have their photo hung on those amazing walls. It would be nice to know if that ever happened. Ps – Vince was my grandfather’s younger sister’s mother, and my grandfather introduced her to his friend, Harry Lombardi.
