Reviews
Our family recently visited Vina Vietnamese in the Highland Park neighborhood of St. Paul while filming a new episode for our @RealTalk Geo YouTube channel — and it was such a memorable dinner.
We hadn’t been back in years, and I was honestly blown away by how much the space has changed. The renovations are an absolute knockout. I know they were done a few years ago, but walking in now it feels like a completely different place: spacious, modern, fresh colors, stylish artwork, and great lighting that give the whole space an urban yet welcoming flair.
Francis, the owner, his family and the staff were so gracious and attentive — they made our dinner feel like more than just a meal; it felt like community.
We ordered the PHO SPECIAL (the broth was rich and comforting), fresh spring rolls, cream‑cheese wontons (golden and gooey), classic pork/wonton soup, and the beef & potato dish — which really stood out. The potatoes were thinly sliced but still had a satisfying chew, and there was a subtle sweetness (I suspect from oyster sauce) that paired beautifully with the beef.
Our daughter Benedetta loves pho—and she was completely in awe of the fish tank in the dining room. We sat there, and you could actually see the joy in her face—she kept pointing and smiling.
For those who don’t know, Highland Park is a wonderful little corner of St. Paul—a true “small‑town” feel inside the city. I grew up coming here with friends, and eating at places like Vina used to be part of what made it special. If you’re in St. Paul and want to explore a local gem, stop by Vina Vietnamese. You’ll be glad you did.
As a very happy and appreciative customer, I’ll say: Thank you, Vina. We’ll be back — and we’ll tell our friends.

I had the grilled pork and egg roll rice noodle salad bowl — fresh, flavorful, and super satisfying. We also shared a plate of crispy cream cheese wontons with sweet dipping sauce.
A nice meal to celebrate getting everything packed into storage, seeing his new place, and—most importantly—starting to explore the local food scene.
