Wow.
Hats off to Christine, Dave and our server Lori.
Plus a fast kitchen. Super good food. The old school menu, old school charm & prices that are super fair, with generous portions.
Truly felt like an episode of the Andy Griffith show.
Senior citizens, Veterans, Families.
Pinch of a backstory.
We we’re at Great Lakes National Cemetery yesterday for a loved ones internment.
I wanted to treat my guests to lunch and this is only 4 minutes away so I figured why not?
Called, spoke with Christine to confirm the proximity to the cemetery and confirm the hours of operation.
Her charm, her joy, assured me this is going to be the right place for a special occasion.
So on the day of.
(11-12-25)
I called spoke to Dave, he assured me he would have a table ready and waiting for us somewhere around 1:15 p.m.
We walked in at 1:10 p.m. and Dave a man of his word he welcomed us in it had a lovely table of 10 set aside.
Lori snagged our drink order, then our food order.
Quick kitchen
Huge, generous portions, good coffee.
$10 omelettes
$9 patty melts
I really wanted to try that four-piece chicken dinner but they had a cautionary warning that it takes about 15 minutes and I didn’t hold up my guests.
So now I guess I’ll have to go back.
I’m thankful for this place, to come along side my family, on a sad, somber day of burying my father a Navy Veteran. ⚓
As we were cashing out, I noticed a large banquet room decorated in patriotic colors and every place was set up. I asked what is this room.? Oh sir it’s set up for a funeral luncheon for 100 guest I said I thought you closed at 3:00 p.m.?
We do, but we will stay late to serve others and the community.
How refreshing. If your nearby, stop in.
Its minutes from the Great Lakes National Cemetery
Moments off of I-75, Grange Hall exit.
May God continue to bless these fine folks.
PS
Dinner for eight people $100
The weight staff is horrible except the older lady that works there. I had the younger brunette waitress. With the nose ring and she made me. I feel like she really didn’t even want to wait on me. She made me feel rushed because she wanted to get back into the kitchen and start messing around with her friends in there. I will no longer come back to this restaurant.
The cook was accommodating.
I have a special diet and he made sure that I was completely satisfied. The raspberry vinaigrette was super good.
The only complaint was I order tea and it did not stay hot at all . But for the most part I would definitely recommend this place.
It’s a little tucked away by a great find.
