My husband brought us here to explore his old hometown of Storm Lake, Iowa. He was very nostalgic to visit this restaurant, and says that nothing has changed menu wise. Great customer service.

Prices were so high, everything was an ‘upgrade’ and not explained. Burger patties small, coney dog not at all as expected. It was like some maid rite on a cheap hot dog with no onion.

A Storm Lake ironic restaurant for as long as I can remember (50 years?). Everything is homemade. Great people. Reminds me of the 50s diners of old. Cool place.

I ordered a mini chicken alfredo, mini salad, an applesauce, and a raspberry iced tea. My total was $25 and change. I feel like that was about $5 too much (not to mention the fact that the applesauce was bad).

The pro: the chicken Alfredo was good; lots of chicken

The cons: across the street from a Tyson processing plant. The smell outside is exactly what you think it would be – disgusting (couldn’t smell it inside the restaurant).

I ordered the applesauce and it had turned. I mentioned it to one of the young ladies at the counter and they gave me another. After some time I was asked if it was better; it wasn’t. I was told by the young lady that she would “tell the guys in the back.” No offer was made of a refund or a replacement. Obviously I didn’t eat it.

As a tourist, I do not recommend eating here. It seems to be popular with the locals so take that into consideration (note this was Sunday evening so not many choices available for dinner).

Always good food and great service. My year old daughter always suggests this place when we come to town. Little spending depending on what you’re getting.

food was okay. 10 dollar cheese curds came pretty much burnt, the workers all had a starring issue, it made us a little uncomfortable other then that it was ok.
