My fiance and I have been coming here every couple months for a few years and it is fantastic every time. It’s our favorite restaurant in Seattle. I look forward to coming here every time, and it never disappoints. I only wish I lived next doors so I can come more frequently. The salmon nigiris here are the best I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot of nigiris across Korea / Japan / US. The rice is perfectly made and fish is fresh & always at the right temperature. The rolls also always have the perfect rice to fish ratio. The atmosphere is super cozy and fun – the walls are full of interesting arts and music related decors. The music in the background is also always great taste. The sushi chef seems like such a sweet person.

This was the best Japanese place my family and I have been to in Seattle! We were visiting over winter break, and we stopped by this place. It was empty, but the server was really nice, and the atmosphere was quiet and calm. He gave us free miso soup and was very accommodating. I got a beefsteak order, and it was amazing. My family got rolls and katsu, and they all enjoyed it. Would come back again if I could.

Every neighborhood deserves a fabulous sushi bar like Village Sushi, but few get one. Wonderful, attentive service, a chill setting with vinyl jazz playing on the hifi, and astoundingly fresh and lovingly prepared sushi, all at a reasonable price. The toro, salmon and tamago were excellent, washed down with a generous glass of Kikkoman plumb wine. A+!

We’ve been eating here for years and it is consistently very high quality sushi and sashimi, truly in the top 3 of the city. Additionally, the side dishes are terrific – the tempura is crisp, light, and never greasy, the scallop appetizer is a bit of heaven – make sure to order rice with it to pair with the leftover sauce, and the agedashi tofu, which is my standard by which I test new places, is the best! All of this at remarkably reasonable prices.
Village Sushi is in a modest spot on the north end of University Way. Joe always has jazz playing, the lights a bit dimmed and you are surrounded by paintings he has done offering an interesting peak into his life away from the restaurant. A bit different from your typical Japanese restaurant, but it doesn’t change how good the food is!

The food here is absolutely phenomenal. I came here on a random evening with my girlfriend looking for a sushi place on the ave and I was deeply impressed. The service is amazing and the atmosphere is warm and relaxing. Their salmon teriyaki is quite frankly the best salmon I’ve had in my life. I now go here at least once a week. A bit expensive, but that’s to be expected at a sushi restaurant. The chef is incredibly kind and talented as well.

My absolute favorite sushi place in Seattle. The quality of the fish is unmatched, and the menu is full of great options. Everything here is perfect from the nigiri to the sashimi to the rolls. I highly recommend the paradise roll, it is probably my single favorite sushi roll I’ve ever had. Come here if you want great sushi in Seattle.

I randomly parked nearby and walked in to this restaurant. The decoration draws my attention immediately, as the paining on the wall is the matter of light and death. Joe is such an interesting person with a lot of talents.
It’s a good time for my evening.
