Polite young man promptly took our order.
Did order a Creamy Rhubarb pie to go…which I have never had and still haven’t as the pie I did receive was Coconut Cream. Sorry to have it go to waste- do not like Coconut At All
The Pizza was very good, with the perfect amount of meat. The Pecan Pie was also very good. Very clean and comfortable dining area.

This is a great small town restaurant. The pizza is very good so that seems to be what I always order. Years ago we used to go to Sunday brunch after church. I am not sure if they still do this, but is was so delicious! There are some really good looking specials too. Homemade pie is very good, but I still like the crust that I make the best though this is close. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and staff is nice and friendly. If you are looking for comfort food, this is the place to go.

Small, simple, very welcoming, and the best pie anywhere around – even at other places with larger and newer facilities. It is easy to get to, located right on the main thoroughfare in the Fountain, MN community. Once, we had biked uphill from Lanesboro, MN, on a defunct tandeum bike and were so exhausted that we wondered if we had the strength to return to our hotel. This is when we first discovered Village Square pie – it was like a godsend!

So while we may have been happy with “average” food, we were amazed at how good it was, especially the blueberry pie with ice cream.

On each visit, the staff demonstrates how personally invested they are in providing the best dining experience that they can offer to guests.

During COVID alerts, when outside adventures were our go-to, we found they were dedicated to following the CDC’s guidance. We’ve had their house salad, sub sandwiches, baked chicken, and always, ALWAYS, pie!!!

Local residents flow in and seem to be strong supporters. Families dine here with their children and seem to have a great time talking table to table. Entire tables were ordering soup and pizzas – so they must be tasty and satisfying.

It’s worth a drive if you are anywhere in the area. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, and we enjoyed the journey there as well. The restaurant is clean with homey furnishings, and the staff waiting tables have been consistently friendly and polite. It is family owned and operated; we were privileged to hear their story first-hand.

Small town with simple food options. This reminds you of what grandma makes when you come to visit. Sandwiches and chips. The homemade pie is the best, not overly sweet and very fresh. Ice cream is a good size for the price.

Small town. We visited on July 4th weekend. The ice cream shop was closed July 4th. The local brewery wasn’t open but the local bar was open. We returned July 5th the ice cream store was open, not a big selection of pie, 3 choices. The local brewery was open with a food truck outside.

Best pizza I have had in years. Thank goodness no weird spices like one reviewer likes. Just all tasty ingredients that come together to make an excellent pizza. Friendly helpful staff and great service.

This place was really disgusting and disappointing. The mushroom and Swiss burger was a greasy, mayonnaise drowned mess that was very unappetizing. The side was some cheap old Dutch chips – okay. The kitchen staff looked like a bunch of recently released convicts; I know, don’t judge a book by it’s cover, but the disgusting food warrants it to a degree. And a larger point was that this whole town had a very bad vibe to it, the crusty old locals all giving my family dirty looks simply for being there. I love small towns, but not this place. Hard pass.

Great dessert, average pizza. Wonderful pecan pie and ice cream (I believe the pie was homemade, ice cream was not but is good quality). We’ve had pizza at some of the top rated restaurants in Minneapolis and this wasn’t anywhere near as good. We like our pizzas flavorful with fennel, garlic, red pepper. This pizza did not have that, and the crust was bland. Just not outstanding, nothing I will remember. I’ll come again for dessert and maybe try a sandwich instead of pizza. There were people coming in for pizza while we were there, so some people must like it, or it’s one of the only options in this small town. And restaurant was clean, but with dated decor. Employee was friendly and service fast, prices good/reasonable.
