We purchased a fixer upper closer to New Athens and while taking a much needed break, wanted to try Village Pizza in New Athens. What a charming, delicious experience. From the old authentic Italian vibe to the super friendly, heavily Italian accented owner, to the lovely staff and wonderful gluten free pizza, it is now at the top of our favorite new local places. We left with a smile on our faces.

Love this place! The owner is one of a kind. He is just like his pizza and food, simply the best. True Italian cooking fantastic pizzas and pastas. My go to is a large Rustica Pizza. His own recipe sausage and oil and garlic infused tomatoes. So good.

It’s literally the greatest pizza I’ve ever eaten. Anytime I go anywhere, I try local pizza there to see if it beats Village Pizza, and they fail every time. I could eat here every day and never get tired of it because it’s just that good. I recommend it to everyone I know to eat here any time they’re in New Athens. Please, never close. Village Pizza closing would be one of the worst days of my life.

I went here for the first time after hearing about it from my boyfriend, and we ordered a medium and large size pizza for takeout. When we came in, the people who worked there were kind and polite, and the owner had even made my second pizza a large instead of medium so I would be saving money since they had a special. When we got back home and I opened the box, the pizza looked amazing. After eating over half I can confidently say this is the BEST pizza I have ever had. For how fantastic their food is, I cannot believe I found out about them only a day ago. I will be recommending them to other people, and will absolutely be back for the pizza, and to try other things on their menu. If you are even remotely close to this place, or even just passing by the town, Village Pizza is a must have.

Some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Service was prompt and polite. The Atmosphere was amazing. The staff was having fun, the owner was having fun and being goofy that put a smile on my face and a good laugh!
It’s not a traditional restaurant, but it’s the best if you’re looking for a loose and enjoyable experience. Like you and the family are getting together for dinner.
Will definitely be back and hungry for more!

Five of us went for dinner, and we couldn’t have been happier. The pizza was as good as any we’ve ever had, and the dessert menu of cannolis and tiramisu was awesome. The owner was very friendly. The service was good. The atmosphere was more or less typical of a small Italian restaurant, and we enjoyed it immensely.

The owner was fantastic to let us in during a tornado warning and was a beautiful man! We had nowhere to go during the tornado with or DOG. We were camping across the street and had nowhere else to go! Very welcoming. !
