Our server, Salma, was fantastic—she was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed with a genuine smile. Carla, the bartender, crafted an amazing cocktail (the Mulatini with the olive garnish was a standout—refreshing and perfectly balanced). The drinks paired beautifully with the food.
Speaking of the food, the dishes were a highlight! The appetizer—a breaded and fried avacado topped with a fresh salsa and a dark drizzle—was bursting with flavor, and the grilled flatbread on the side was a great touch. The crispy pork belly bites with a creamy sauce were rich and indulgent, while the chicken skewers with roasted veggies were savory and satisfying. The red chile pasta with grilled chicken was creamy and comforting, and the desserts—a tres leches with whipped cream and a strawberry, and a chocolate cake with ice cream and berries—were the perfect sweet finish.
Overall, Mula’s delivered a memorable dining experience with great food, excellent service from Salma and Carla, and lively music that tied it all together. I’ll definitely be back!
Once we were finally seated, it took about 15 minutes before our server came over to greet us. The restaurant was clearly busy and understaffed, which does happen and is understandable. What made the situation more frustrating was seeing the manager sitting down to eat with others while service issues were clearly unfolding around the room.
The food itself was just okay. The croquetas were the standout and definitely the favorite at the table. The rest of the dishes were average, and the empanadas were disappointing. They seemed either overcooked or left under a heat lamp too long and were so tough that a steak knife was needed to cut through them.
If it felt like management was making an effort to support the staff and improve the experience, I’d be willing to give Mula’s another try. As it stands, the lack of attention and leadership overshadowed what could have been a much better visit.
Food was real good we got 2 plates of the Bruncho Empanadas these were so good a must have . We also had Huevos rancheros Note chile is hatch green chile and it had some kick. Our last plate was La Mula Torta. This torta was not what we were expecting. Traditionally a Torta is made with Telera bread but this was Ciabatta bread. Eh its close enough. Overall food was delicious .
We normally dont get dessert when it comes to brunch but they had Tres Leches and Cheesecake with Abuelita Chocolate. OH Damn!!! both were so good A+
we will be back to this place for dinner.
I had the special- creamy pistachio pesto pasta and my husband had the lamb chops. We absolutely loved them and the ceviche starter was perfect. Great drinks and service. We were the last ones there- hope we didn’t stay too long. We were enjoying ourselves so much.
We knew something wasn’t right when we walked in and stood at the front of the restaurant for about five minutes. Several staff members made eye contact and acknowledged us, but no one offered to seat us. Eventually, someone who appeared to be a manager showed us to a table. After sitting for another five minutes without service, we genuinely debated getting up and leaving.
When our server finally arrived, they were friendly and very apologetic, which we appreciated. We ordered two margaritas, but it took close to 25 minutes for them to arrive. To be fair, we were warned that there was only one bartender working and there would be a bit of a wait. We then ordered four dishes: Green Chile Risotto Croquetas, Empanadas, Berenjenas (eggplant), and Aguacate Fritos (fried avocado). The croquetas were delicious and the favorite at the table. Unfortunately, the empanadas were overcooked and extremely tough. The other items were just ok.
Despite our server’s best efforts, the entire visit took over two hours, when it should have been an hour at most. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, but what was most frustrating was seeing the presumed manager sitting at a table with customers while guests throughout the restaurant—including us—were visibly frustrated by long waits for food, drinks and delivery of our check.
I understand that restaurants face staffing challenges, but during a poorly run shift, it’s disappointing to see management not step in to support their team or help improve the guest experience. With better oversight and pacing, this could be a much better spot, but based on this visit, it fell short. It’s a shame as we were really looking forward to trying this local restaurant.
