We were pleased. Delightful, friendly, waitress. Made our dining that much better.

Two salads. Each large enough for two meals. And really good quality, well made.

A caramel pecan French silk pie. Filling was delicious. Crust was not. We just ate the filling. Crust had a grainy, cold shortening texture and a been in refrigerator wet and mildew flavor profile.

The two of us were seated at a table for eight, instead of one of the many other smaller tables, ordered a California skillet because I didn’t want meat, and got more bacon than potatoes or anything else in the skillet and the cheese was completely unmelted and the food was cold. Asked for salt and pepper from the waitress, never got it, waited another win just to get the check so we could leave. Literally the worst experience I’ve ever had at a Village Inn. I will never be coming back to this one, genuinely not worth even considering eating here

Has extremely bright lights at the booths with no shades and tacky orange frames. It’s very distracting and hurts your eyes. Don’t know who thinks this is a good look but those of us with sensitive eyes can’t eat comfortably with an incandescent light pointed right at your face. It definitely discourages conversation with others at the table. Gives a trashy feel to what is otherwise a great environment

This was a good spot.
Most restaurants in this area are way too expensive for what you get, which at times you like because it has a fun atmosphere and the food is something you don’t normally find but Village inn is something you can rely on.
The service was excellent and everyone there was super nice.
The salad was fresh and I had a little steak that satisfied my craving. And, the bill at the end didn’t break the bank.
Our stay in Glenwood springs had been an all around joy. ‍❤️‍

We had a late dinner here that was fairly good- my pot roast was tender though the green beans were overcooked and tough, and my husband liked his chicken taco salad. The decor is a little tired and the pendant over the table so bright it felt like a spotlight. Alas, we had no room for their wonderful pies—next time we hope to!

Terrible experience!!! We had to wait a long time for our drinks and saw that other people that came in after us was being served. Expressed this to the female general manager and she just apologized and said it was a long wait because we ordered a shake. We are Hispanic and seemed like she was racist. My eggs were raw when served and told the server and she wanted to replace and told her to only give me a discount and the manager said to ONLY DISCOUNT 1.99
This confirms they don’t care about clients and having a good experience. They were busier cleaning tables than serving the drinks to the people sitting on the tables. Ridiculous!!!

We stopped in for breakfast before leaving town today, and the experience was disappointing from the moment we walked in. The restaurant was completely empty, yet it took about 10 minutes for us to be seated. When the host finally approached us, he still had earbuds in and seemed visibly annoyed to seat us.

Our waitress, however, was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and the best part of our visit. The food itself was decent.

What truly bothered me was the behavior of a young Hispanic waiter who was not serving us. His attitude toward my husband and me felt uncomfortable and inappropriate. He repeatedly gave us dirty looks from across the restaurant, yet when a Hispanic couple walked in, he immediately rushed to greet them, spoke warmly in Spanish, and seated them right away with enthusiasm. The contrast in his behavior was extremely noticeable and made us feel unwelcome. It came across as race-motivated, which is upsetting and unacceptable in any business.

Overall, this experience left a very negative impression, and I hope management addresses this type of behavior.

We came here because it was close to our hotel and had biscuits and gravy. My partners on a mission to find the tastiest of them on our USA trip.

There was about a ten minute wait to get in. No big deal.
The service was about on parr time wide to Canada- takes time.
The server was super busy and she didn’t seem to be having the best of day to socialize but we were being understanding.

The food was weird. We ordered the VIB and for some reason each item came out on different plates instead of one dish?
The food was subpar. He didn’t really care for the biscuits and gravy. Mine was fine- standard eggs and ham. The English muffin was huge. But it was made as i ordered it.

My partner loved the strawberry lemonade though. That was a 10/10 and I really enjoyed the coffee.

Afterwards a busboy came by and we asked if we paid at the front. He stood there and stared at us and i had to repeat the question where he just pointed. It was the same one who when I put our name on the list stared at me when I asked what the wait was. It was such a weird experience.

The decor was nice. It was intentionally retro which was super neat.
Some of the booths need upgrades.

We wouldn’t return to this.

The owner of this coffee shop is April, and the Village Inn sign was a welcome familiar site, but this restaurant is far superior to any other full menu – coffee diner type restaurant. It’s family owned, still operating with the Village Inn logo, so if you like the menus at Village Inn, you’re going to be happy. The food was cooked perfectly, I had the strawberry crepes while my dining partner had chicken fried steak breakfast.

Tracey, our server, was a cheerful and organized young woman and watching the crew operate on a busy Sunday morning was inspiring. There was a very short wait at 9am on Sunday. We were seated within 5 minutes. The atmosphere didn’t feel rushed, just energetic.

When we had finished, at the register to pay, I noted that our table had been cleared, reset, and seated within about 3 minutes. As a former restaurant manager, this is a crew that takes pride in their work, and it shows. April, the owner, even diverted the credit to her team as we were saying goodbye. So even if the parking lot is full, you’re still gonna get a table pretty quickly.

* Fresh strawberries on the crepes.

We were there New Year’s day for lunch, and we were really hungry! My friend only ordered a crepe and I wanted a steak with eggs. After 40 minutes waiting for our food we asked the waitress what was the holdup? She apologized and said, they were short staffed and only 2 cooks working. I understand, but my friend was getting really impatient, said she should’ve let us know that beforehand. She said your food will be ready in 5 minutes. Probably another 10-15 minutes went by, we got up and getting ready to leave when she walked out with our food. I didn’t wanted to be rude, because she honestly was working hard, and I have to stress this is not her fault, she was trying to serve. We sat back down and started to eat…

I asked for a medium cooked steak! This was absolutely BURNED and hard! So dry and gross! The waitress even approached me and said “it’s not huh?” And I was like no, it’s awful! I didn’t finish the plate and I thought they had the decency of not charging me for it, the only thing they did was give me a free slice of cake… really?
I used to enjoy stopping here for breakfast, I’m absolutely not going back. Management needs to deal with their staff and times way better! It was terrible food service!
