We came here 2 days in a row for breakfast. The first day was excellent no complaints. Food and service was great. The 2nd day was not so good. We ordered our food and waited and when it was brought out the potatoes were cold. So I informed the waitress she took it back and brought them back out burnt. And actually asked if that was good enough. I made a comment as a manager walked by our table, she personally went back and cooked a fresh plate for us, but by then it was too late. Although I do appreciate her making it right it still was not a good experience.

We came for lunch and it was pretty tasty. I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries and my boyfriend had the rueben with fries. It took a little bit for our food to come out and our fries were cold by then. Our waitress went and brought us some fresh ones. She was pretty attentive.

We had a party of 10 so we called ahead. The waitress and staff were so patient and attentive. Everyone in our group loved the variety on the menu and we will be going back! They also sang happy birthday and gave the birthday girl a free slice of dessert.

Honestly, I haven’t given this restaurant much of a chance as this is my first time here although I frequent Glenwood every summer. However, they didn’t make much a good impression with the inattentive wait staff and the 45 minutes to prepare and serve 3 pancakes and a side of scrambled eggs. Also, the volume of patrons at the time was quite low, so I was stuck wondering why there was such a delay and no sign of a waitress.

The owner of this coffee shop is April, and the Village Inn sign was a welcome familiar site, but this restaurant is far superior to any other full menu – coffee diner type restaurant. It’s family owned, still operating with the Village Inn logo, so if you like the menus at Village Inn, you’re going to be happy. The food was cooked perfectly, I had the strawberry crepes while my dining partner had chicken fried steak breakfast.

We went for pies to go, only. The place was packed! We were like VIPs because we walked straight through the line for the pies! The girl facilitating all of that was so friendly and really funny under all that pressure! We live 40 miles away, I would definitely call it a destination stop!
